Just wanted to chip in my two cents, which is the 50s is actually really nice at Disney. It was in the 50s every day of our trip last February, and it felt great. Could go for hours, unlike 90s when you need frequent breaks. A a fleece with a hood and some light gloves are all you need!

Going next week and I am thrilled that the weather will be in the high 60s 70s. Kids will have to wear an extra layer but much prefer that to the heat. Also I live in NH so 50s doesn't seem chilly to me. :)

I like the cooler weather too I posted for folks visiting the world not knowing winter months can be chilly pack more than shorts and a swimsuit to avoid having to shop for sweatpants and a sweatshirts

My family spent the day at Six Flags a few years ago when it was in the 30's. We pretty much had the park to ourselves, but man it was sooooooo cold!

I hope it's not that cold when we visit WDW in a few weeks, but at least I know we can tough it out if it is. :crazy2:

High 70s by Wednesday. We arrive on Monday and it's sure going to be a lot nicer than the 38 that it is here in the UK

50s isn't bad if it is sunny. We went several years ago in February and it was in the 50s, foggy/overcast and windy. Don't think we ever felt remotely warm while outside.

So very true. Have been there many times in Dec. I'm from Chicago, right now it is 7 with a chill of 8 below. At WDW, 50's in the day, and sun, is very nice. As said, cloudy and windy, a totally different story. At night it is really a different story. I see the forecast is for around 40 at night on Sat and Sun. That is very cold at WDW. And uncomfortable to say the least.

You got thicker blood than me! We have had the misfortune of being at Disney twice during temps in the 50's and 40's (once even when it was in the 30's) and it was miserable. That is no fun at all. I need more breaks from the cold than I do when we are there in August and it's in the 90's.

I was going to mention this. 50s with sun and no wind doesn't feel bad at all. We were there once when it was 55 cloudy, drizzling, and windy and I was FREEZING. Even being that I'm coming from the Northeast it was cold.

It's a damp cold. That's why if feels worse than the same temps up north. Even if the sun is out there's still that lingering dampness that just goes right to the bone. Plus, you are spending a lot of time outside, where you might just be going out briefly up north. I don't think there is anything worse than a breezy evening in the low 40's standing around World Showcase waiting for Illuminations. The wind just goes through you.

I totally agree with you...we were here last January and had mornings in the 30's and highs around 50 and we froze. I live in Boston so we are used to the cold but i'd rather sweat than have to wear a winter hat and gloves.

I think the big thing overlooked is even if used to the cold at home, you're not really used to be out for the entire day in it at home. Also you will get a little sweaty with the attractions even in the cold so that just makes it colder feeling. The curb isn't warm anymore when you sit on it.

My view on traveling when temps might fluctuate is your bring whatever you don't want to buy or spend the time to buy with you. And toss in some travel laundry pods into the suitcase, if it goes mostly the other temp you have what you need to use the laundry early or late at night.

Yeah, It's much harder to pack for a Disney trip from mid-Nov on through mid-March. I tell anyone going to Disney then to bring clothes for extremes. If it does get cold it's rare for it to be more than 2, 3 days so you need both warm and cold weather gear. You may get lucky and not need them but you may also really want jeans, jackets, hats and gloves. We wear one set down and pack back ups. So far we haven't had to do laundry but it's the only time I'm willing to when on vacation. With the coat and gloves we leave home wearing, we are able to make do. It's also a time of year we are prone to use lockers for our heavier layers we want when the sun goes down.

I think something overlooked is if you don't bring it and have to get it there, you also have to get it home. that might mean disney priced luggage and another unexpected bag fee on top of disney priced clothing.. and disney does not have a large supplies of long leg or cold weather jackets so you might be having a nice afternoon at a nearby store instead of in disney. I don't think they sell any beanies or gloves. stores at springs might and there is a couple countries in epcot that might as well but overall it's hard to find the cold weather clothing so your looking at layers and layers of not so cold clothing when you buy it.

i'd rather pack 1, maybe 2 days of other weather gear in an extra suitcase and bring it with us and doing extra laundry then to have to deal with finding it, the cost of it and bringing it home.

edit: I saw other weather because if the 10 day forecast says mostly cold, I'm not skipping the warm clothes and if it's saying mostly warm, I'm not skipping some cold weather clothes..

Lockers in the parks will be your friend for layers and not having to carry it around or run back to the resort.

Gotta disagree with those who said 50s is fine weather. We're from Buffalo where it's quite cold so we're used to those temperatures. But I was also at WDW one November when the high was upper 50s, and it wasn't fun. The thing is that temperatures don't actually reach the high of 50s until mid-late afternoon. So for those of you going out for rope drop or even mid-morning, it's actually 30s or 40s. Quite a difference. And once the sun goes down, it gets colder again. So its only really in the 50s for a couple hours in the aftenroon at most. Also, the outdoor rides whip you through the wind and cold air. We luckily had a jacket and hoodies that we had worn on the plane, but we wished we had gloves too.

As to the bold, not regularly but when the temps are dropping they bring out the black beanies and gloves that are given out to CM and sell them. I believe they were $5 each last time I saw some in the parks. They are the things sold for $1 at Target and whatnot.
