weather in october

I would like to know this too. I've only been in Sept and Dec. December was warm on some days and perfect on others, but probably too cold for swiming for my taste. Sept is pretty wicked hot, it would be hard spending the whole day in a park so some.

Maybe Oct is a good between. Anyone know?

Hi we were there last October for Columbus Day week, we swam every day and dis not need any jackets at night. We are going back again this year in October just a week earlier and I plan on checking out the weather 10 days out from my trip to decide whether to bring any pants or jackets. Usually when we fly down I have the kids wear long pants on the plan and a lite jacket since we are coming from NY its a little cooler here in the Fall. Then at least they have one pair of pants and a jacket just in case. Hope this helps

It doesn't hurt to bring a jacket with you. I went in October a few years ago and bought a long sleeve t shirt because I didn't bring one. Some nights where cool and others where warm...it is hit and miss. During the day was wonderful. It did rain on us 2 days...bring ponchos.

October weather can really vary. Check the forecast a few days before you leave, and adjust your packing from there. We always go in October, and have had:

1) Extremely hot and humid

2) Quite hot and humid

3) Hot and not quite as humid

We ended up with a huge temperature swing in October 2005, with Hurricane Wilma. Two days before Wilma: very hot and humid. Wilma swept through, then the five days afterward were very pleasant, with very little humidity (it was even too cool to sit out by the pool!). You just never know.

I always bring one long-sleeved item that I can carry with me (this year, it will be a long-sleeved white knit cardigan). I can toss it in my backpack and put it on if I end up in really cold air conditioning. I've been really glad to have it many times. I also have one pair of long pants (which I wear on the plane, since I'm coming from a chilly area in October). Have always been glad to have one pair, just in case. That's the hardest thing to buy at WDW, clothing-wise -- you can always buy t-shirts and sweatshirts, but it's hard to find long pants if you need them!

This will be our lucky "13" trip for Halloween. Our favorite time of year to go. We are usually there the last week of October and the weather 99% of the time is perfect- mid 80s in the day and low 70s in the evening. No humidity, no afternoon thunderstorms. Last year was a freakish year and it had gone down to the 30s at night and was mid 70s in the day. About 5 years ago they had record heat for that time of year (90's) but that really has been the exception.

We have traveled to WDW 2 times in October and my recollection was it being hot! I remember being surprised that it was still so hot for October. I think like the PPs said it really varies so you have to be sure to check the weather right up until the day before you leave so you can be prepared. That's what we did this past year when we went in November- and good thing we did because they had this abnormal cold spell and we were lucky if it got up to 70 each day... and at night it was down in the high 30s/low
40s!! :scared1:

the weather in october has been quite perfect for me on my last two trips. i experienced a rain shower a couple of times .. but nothing that lasted very long or ruined any of my plans. :goodvibes it was hot during the days .. it definitely reached the mid 80s ... and the nights were nice ... i wore my jeans a couple of times. i would definitely bring a light jacket/ hoodie.
