trying to start to plan our next year trip.

If I need school holiday dates from work i have to put them in early.

So we have to decide when to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats the weather like in October as half term then would be one of our options.

thanks

I've only ever been in October and always found the weather perfect. Shorts and t-shirts definitely, one or two spots of rain but nothing much at all and in 2004 we needed sweaters in the late evenings. Obviously I have no other time of year to compare it with but it suits us and if it wasn't for the fact I can no longer take DD1 out of school I would only go in October.

One of the best times to go for nice weather, not quite the high humidity of the summer months.
Would certainly consider October if we were not restricted to the summer school holidays.

is there much difference between september and october weather?

I think September would be slightly hotter with higher humidity also, with possibly more rainfall too.

Having said that I think the early months of the year and later one's too such as sept/oct/nov are becoming more unpredictable.
It could well be in the 90s in October, but I think the annual average would be more like low 80s.

I know it is bad being restricted to school/college holidays, however, I have just thought of something to make it easier - we are blessed with children. :) :wave2:

.....and the fact that my wife being a teacher doesn't fancy the thought of 6 weeks at home with a bored but very active child ;) ....a few days of that over Easter can be hard enough!

The low was very low last October and was immediatly following the hurricane, the temperature plummeted for about 2 days then started to get back to normal. I looked at year on year averages and they tend to be dropping by about a degree every couple of days or so during October.

We did Oct last year and it was perfect...mid 80s mostly, shorts and t-shirts all day and evening. A couple [and only a couple] of rain showers which were warm. :sunny: . It must be the best time of year to visit I would think. Certainly we would never go july/august.
