Hi! I posted a while ago asking the best time to go to WDW and think I may have it narrowed down to the end of Oct./ beginning of Nov.
My question: Is it still warm enough for swimming at that time of year? Maybe even into the second week of Nov.?
We're from northern Ohio, so if we're going to Florida, we want to be there when it's warm and sunny, but not TOO warm!
Thanks for your help!

We're going in mid-November. I've heard that it's an excellent time to go! And probably warm enough for some swimming yet. I'm really excited as we're from Minnesota! :)

I hope so. We will be there November 4-12. Our last trip was in early December and it got COLD. We decided to go earlier this time in hopes of a little bit of warm. We are also from Ohio and I know it will be warmer there than here but we do want to wear shorts and swim. I went in early November about 6 years ago and the weather was wonderful -- warm through the day, but needed a sweatshirt in the evening.

We were there last October 15-24 and it was HOT!!! In the 90s almost everyday and we never unpacked the sweatshirts. We were definitely in the pool everyday. I remember the sweat pouring off my daughter as I tried to change her into her Tinkerbell costume for MNSSHP. We were chased out on the last day by a hurricane and I heard the weather got cooler after that (70s during the day).
We were also there over Columbus Day weekend a few years ago and the weather was warm during the day - we used the pool - but we definitely needed sweatshirts at night.

I have lived in Gainesville, fl my entire life (about 2 hrs N of Orlando) and I'd say you have a better chance of Oct-early Nov being warm than being cold. By late Oct I would probably not go swimming (days are usually mid- high 80's) but a lot of people do swim- even well into Dec. Now we do have cool snaps every now and then by late Oct and that is also height of hurricane season. My sis was there during Frances (and her sons 4th bday :worried: ) They ended up leaving before they intended to, but she said AKL was the best place they had ever been during a hurricane. ;) Anyway, hope you get the weather your looking for :sunny: but I'm sure you'll have a great time regardless. :yay:

Our last two trips were the very end of Sept/beginning of Oct and the very end of Oct/beginning of Nov.

We swam both trips, it was plenty warm for the pool. We are from the midwest as well and the pool temperatures were just fine. The lack of crowds was WONDERFUL. We avoided MK on Halloween on purpose and went to MGM that day, it was empty. The next day we went to MK and walked on to everything in Fantasyland. You've picked a great time to go. Have fun :-)

We went at the end of October last year and it was 87 every afternoon.

We always fo the week before thanksgiving around the 17th or so and it is great. Hot enough at mid day for swimming too. Its a great time to go, the holiday decorations start going up right before thanksgiving-- a little extra magic. Not to mention the parks are not busy at all.

We were there last year Oct 28 - Nov 7 and it certainly was fine for swimming. Some of the days were still very hot (almost 90). It did cool down in the evening and with a wind it was alittle cool walking back to the room for Snowwhite, but I was fine and definately comfortable. The night we did the MNSSHP it was alittle cooler in the evening but still in the 70's. Have a great time as all the park rides are walk ons. Great time of year to avoid the long lines. never waited longer than 10 min for any ride. My favourite Pirates of the Carribean and Splash Mountain we just kept going back on because of this. Snowwhite and DD did Space Mountain 5 times in a row walking staight on.

Thank you all for your responses! I feel good now about choosing this time of year to go. Hopefully we can avoid the hurricanes though! :bitelip:
I can't wait!! :goodvibes
Have a wonderful day!

We have been both times. The last week of October the year we went was HOT, HOT, HOT and super humid. Too much for this heat weanie!

Also went around the 10th of November and it was PERFECT weather. Nice and warm and the water temps were perfect. Had a little rain but it blew away as quickly as it appeared. :thumbsup2

Ultimately, my worst day at WDW is still better than my best day in Oregon :rotfl2:

Wow :thumbsup2 thanks for asking this question. I am taking my family Nov 16-22 and wondered the same thing. Can anyone shed light :sunny: on park attendence? When is the MK most busy? I heard Mondays are especially busy. We have a 4 day park hopper and I would like to plan some kind of plan on which park to visit on what day. I am looking to you dis board members- Enlighten me!! :sunny:

That is usually the exact week we go. The weather starts off low 60's ( but being from CT, still shorts weather in my book for Nov!), then it got to the 80's. We literally stayed on Kali River Rapids, Test Track, and Buzz Lightyear ride 4 times! Nothing was really crowded at all. We are leaving in 8 days, so I am a little worried that June is going to be HOT HOT HOT and CROWDED-- but hey its WDW-- no ones complaining here

November is a great time af year, and watch for the magic of Disney towards the end of your stay-- all the Holiday decrations start going up which are spectacular! If you can squeeze it in, go lobby hopping to see.

My last three visits where at the end of october beginning of November. Everytime it was hot enough to take dip in the pool or even visit a waterpark... Except for the WILMA stom on my last visit all other days I was out there in a T-Shirt only...

Enjoy
