Weather in mid March ?????

Ok we're all booked to go for 6 days on 12th March & I was just wondering what the weather is generally like at that time of year as i am reading so many posts about how COLD it is ....can anyone help?

Hi Nitnat,

We went mid March 2003 and the weather was lovely somewhere around the 16 - 18c everyday and beautiful blue skies and sunshine, no rain it was lovely! As nice as a Shetland summer - it never gets very warm this far north!!!

However this year we went for the end of february, beginning of March and it was absolutely freezing - we couldn't get over the difference considering it was only a couple of weeks earlier!

The BBC has a good weather chart showing the average conditions in Paris throughout the year which may be more reliable than our two very different experiences you could try this website:

Hi, we went March 2004 and it was absolutely freezing but I've read in other posts that March'03 was beautiful spring weather, so pretty much like ours then - you never know!
We're arriving on the 11th March next year like you for 6 days, I am taking some thermal undies for us all next time but I think if you've plenty of
layers you'll be OK.
Take some spare pairs of gloves, scarves and hats in case they get wet ours did last time and I spent a fortune buying more over there.
We're staying at the NPB - which hotel are you staying at.

I think i'll book the 2003 weather then - sounds good to me!

Jill - We are stopping at the New York Hotel.

Guess we'd best pack some extra layers then just incase!
