Weather in late Apr/early May

We're going down to OKW 4-29 to 5-4. This will be our first time going this time of the year. We normally go in Oct. or Nov. but have extra points that were burning a hole in our pockets. I checked various websites and see that the average highs are about 83-88. Rainfall looks pretty low, but I'm not a big fan of the humidity (everyone repeat- It' s not the HEAT, it's the HUMIDITY!). Is it tolerable this time of the year or is it a sauna like later in the Summer.

This is the best time of the year to go in my opinion. It is very warm, but not hot. And the humidity is lower than in the summer, and not nearly as much rain. Plus, the International Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot is a must do!

It's a very good time to go. One time it was up in the 90's the second week of May but it was not humid, just hot. Because of the low humidity, very little rain.

You could of been writing my post...I have the same questions and concerns. This will be our first Spring trip 4/29 - 5/5 and the FL heat and humidity can really get to me. Luckily this trip is just DH and I and our 6 yr old niece so we can go at a slower pace.

I will say after attending a conference last July at WDW I don't think it will be that hot and humid. We survived the July weather with misting fans and water absorbing neck ties.

This is the absolute best time to go in my opinion. The weather is perfect! We've gone in April/May several times. I'll be there again with 5 of my girlfriends just soaking up the sun and sipping cocktails by the pool..

I went that week in 2002 and it was the best week weather wise I have ever had. It was perfect.

Weather will be somewhat comparable to your late Oct/early Nov trips. You could hit some warmer weather and the sun is pretty strong midday but you don't have the humidity. I've also been very lucky that time of year and only had one trip that had heavy rains. Usually, the most you'll get is quick thunderstorms.

I'm thinking what RO80 said about "best time of year" but what I would like to post publicly is "really a bad time to go, be sure to pick another time of year" It gets more and more popular every year as folks catch on to the Flower Festival and great weather.

Thanks everyone, that's just what I was hoping for! Can't wait to head on down. We haven't been down since Nov. 2005 and this will be our first trip as DVC members.

I'm thinking what RO80 said about "best time of year" but what I would like to post publicly is "really a bad time to go, be sure to pick another time of year" It gets more and more popular every year as folks catch on to the Flower Festival and great weather.

If the weather and Flower Festival are that great we may go for a few days every May, but I'll be sure to complain about the lousy weather and big crowds to anyone who'll listen.
