Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me what the weather is like typically in June in the Bahamas and Castaway? Is it really hot and rainy? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but we went last time in April, and the weather was perfect. We were at WDW in May, and it was super hot and humid, and we would really like to avoid that if possible! Just want to know what we could expect.
Thank you!:)

We have taken our last 4 cruises to the Bahamas in early June. There is a chance for rain, but we only had rain onceout of all our Castaway Cay days. We do the double dip trips to CC. It was light rain, not a wash out. Last year we could see storm clouds around us but we were able to avoid them. I wouldn't worry about the rain chances. As long as the tropics are quiet, you should be okay.

Very hot. Any rain we've had has always come and gone quickly....nothing that lasted long to ruin any plans.

Anyone else? Would you say it is too hot to really enjoy the island? We are from MN, so really not used to the heat! When we were in WDW in May, it was averaging 93 degrees, and we could hardly function LOL! The June date works out perfectly for us, but really don't want to spend all that money if it is just too hot, humid and rainy!:)

Check the yearly forecast for Abaco ( closest island to CC) and that will tell you all that you need to know from air temp to rain fall and even water temp:thumbsup2

I'm a florida girl, so I'm used to heat and humidy. I have to say, though, the heat in the caribbean just feels different....almost like the sun is closer to the earth or something! Having said that, it's still not too hot to enjoy the day. We just stay wet and in the shade as much as possible. There's plenty of ways to cool down if you get too hot.

I went this June on a double-dip Dream and I didn't think it was hot at all.

Mesaboy, I see your from Ft Lauderdale, so I'm sure the hot weather in June doesn't feel hot to you LOL!;)

Jax actually, but still Florida. ;) Truth be told, we found the water to be a little cool when we first went in, but adjusted fast enough.

Weather Underground has weather history info. This is the info for the month of June this year. I went back through to 2008 and the numbers are pretty similar for all the years.

Expect hot and humid......but, we have been to CC several times in July and August and it was hot and humid and we survived....find a spot under a palm tree and it is delightful!!! Remember...you are not walking around all day out in the hot sun like at WDW. You have the water to cool off in and the shade of the palm trees.

Thanks for the info! We are also going in june and I was curious since the last cruise we did in Oct we had a hurricaine!
:hippie:

We are going in June, too. And, like kittycruize, we are from Minnesota. However, BECAUSE we have to put up with cold weather most of the year, I am hoping for HOT weather! LOL! :thumbsup2

Hot, humid, usually beautiful skies**, and ocean breezes to help keep you comfortable. Expect to have a wonderful time on CC and you will!

**There is the occasional storm that blows through. On our last cruise one came late in the afternoon of CC, it was off in the distance (to the north), and we watched a waterspout for about 15 minutes. What a spectacular sight that was!
