This is my first time posting a new message/ question, so if it needs to be moved, I completely understand (but please let me know where it was moved to :) My question is, how is the weather in July (18-25)?
I know it will be HOT, but how hot is it? We are from Oklahoma, and are traveling to Disney World for the first time. It will be me (26), husband (29 on the trip) and our DS6. We have talked to a few friends who have been to Florida and they have been telling us that the weather is unbearable. We are now afraid that we won't be able to enjoy our trip because of the hot weather/ humidity. We are from Oklahoma, so we have experience with 100+ weather. I am interested in hearing from other people who have been to Disney World at this time. I want to find out if the had a great time, regardless of the weather, or if they regretted in any way going at this time of year. BTW, we are on the DxDP, so we will be taking frequent "meal breaks."

Also, if you could offer "tips" on managing the heat, that would be great!

Thanks to everyone!!!

We have been going to Disney in July for the past few years. Yes, it is hot but who cares you are in Disney. It usually rains for a little while in the afternoon, which isn't a bad thing since the parks tend to empty out. If you are going to a waterpark plan accordingly. Break in the afternoon to swim or rest. It will not ruin your vacation. Purchase a mister fan before you leave home, your child will love it. Have a great time!!!:lovestruc

Thank you for your reply! Do they keep the rides open when it rains? Riding Dumbo in the rain sure seems like a fun way to cool off!

Hi,

The rides are open and usually less crowded as long as it is not lightning. We are also going again in July. As the kids have gotten older it has been harder to pull the kids out of school. Where are you staying?:)

We are staying at Pop Century.
We were originally going in May, but I was laid off in March, so we decided to push our vacation dates out a little. The May trip was scheduled around my birthday, and we scheduled the new trip around my husband's. I just couldn't pass up the idea of a free gift card. We decided to let DS6 use that as his spending money.

Our first trip to WDW was July 2007 and we had a fabulous time. Granted, we're from Georgia so we're used to heat and humidity, but I must admit that I was a bit taken by surprise by how much more hot and humid it was in Florida than central Georgia.

That said, we had a wonderful time and the heat didn't slow us down at all. We took a few misters with us and those made a huge difference, especially when standing in lines or just sitting and waiting for attractions (Indiana Jones Stunt Show -- Lights, Motors, Action -- and Fantasmic especially). We wore lightweight clothing and hats and carried water bottles with us. We took a break each afternoon to go back to the hotel to rest and swim.

Really, it was wonderful. Hot and humid, most definitely. But we still had a great time! So great, in fact, that we're going back this July (17-25).

We'll be there the same week!!

Thanks for the mister tip -- I definitely need to get some -- I'll need two just for myself! I'm such a heat wimp!

If you see us, I'll be the one w/ wet hair misting w/ both hands! :goodvibes

It will be VERY hot and humid. It's the humidity that really adds to the discomfort level.
BUT, that being said, there IS a way to deal with the heat. Go to the parks at rope drop -- get up early! Then you can leave the parks after lunch for a break back at your resort. We did this every day. You can swim, take a nap, etc. Then we go back to the parks after dinner. This way you are escaping the hottest part of the day, and still getting the most out of your time.

Hey we'll be at POP July 13th thru 20th. When will you be there. As for July weather -- It ain't the heat - It's the humidty:rotfl2:
