I was thinking of going in late January or sometime in February
How is the weather & are you able to go in the pools
Are they heated
Also how is the crowd level

Yes, the pools are heated.

The weather is a total guess -- it can be 80s and sunshine, or 60s and rain, or even 40s at night. And it can be all of those in the same week!

Crowd levels depend on exactly when you go, but are generally good, as long as you avoid either MLK or President's Day weekends.

Have fun!

I've been late December early January the last 3 years. The weather is quite variable. You may see 80s daytime and 40s nighttime in the same week.

If you want to swim, plan the day that is forecast to be the warmest. On one trip there were 2 swimmable days out of 7.

Bring an assortment of clothing, especially extra socks and an extra pair of shoes: we got caught in some bad rain at Epcot and we all got soaked. Water puddles get huge back in the worlds, like lakes!

My wife and I went in January a few years ago. We like to be at the parks for opening and some days the weather was below 50 degrees when walking through the turnstyles. Definitely pack a toke hat and gloves.

I go in December. Weather can be 80 and sunny one day and 55 the next. Mornings are often chilly.

It could be very cold(high of 55,low of 30) or it could be warm(high of 85-88,low of 65-70),that's just how winter is in Florida, its all dependent on cold fronts. Most likely somewhere in the middle, high of 72-78 with lows from 55-60.

When we lived down there full time, we regularly went in January and February, hitting some of the lowest crowds of the year. But everyone who said the weather is variable is right on the money. You never know til you get up in the morning and the forecast can change during the day. The pool water wasn't an issue for us because we didn't swim when we were there for just a day and didn't stay overnight. Sometimes I dressed for the COLD in the morning and then was dressed too warmly by mid afternoon. Better to do layers. Yes, it's central Florida, but it gets cold sometimes.

I'd also like to add that it also matters a bit where you are coming from. If you are coming from temps where the high is in the teens, it's going to feel a lot warmer to you than someone who is coming from temps where the highs are in the mid-40s.

And yes, we swim. Even if it's not "swim weather", the kids love to be able to go home and tell their friends that they were swimming. The pools are heated.

Late January is my favorite time to go. Expect anything from snow to pool weather. Pools are heated so we always had at least one pool day. The cool weather is GREAT for touring.

We've always been able to swim in February but it's chilly when you get out and the kids don't last long in there.

Bring fleeces! Those seemed to be the best for managing the temps.

It's a great time to go. If you're from a winter climate, it will feel heavenly even if it is 50-something degrees lol.

it's a toss up. i've only ever gone in jan or feb. this year? it was melting hot for our first few days, then freezing and occasionally windy the rest. usually it's pretty nice but you do get odd ball weather.

We wore pants and tshirts for the last week of January this year... capris on 2 of the days but the mornings were COOL starting out. We are from northern Manitoba, though, so for us the weather was still nice and warm and completely comfortable. We saw people walking around with gloves and jackets and we were fine in a lighter sweatshirt. :) lol

How is the weather & are you able to go in the pools We have been twice in early Feb and the weather was GREAT. Upper 70s, we swam and had a great time. Our preferred time to visit.
Are they heated Yes, and even if it is cloudy, you should take advantage of the pools!
Also how is the crowd level Crowds are lower than normal, but we noticed during our last Feb visit (2014) that crowds were a little heavier. I attribute this to: 1. people are catching on that is a great time to visit 2. homeschool families who can travel at any time 3. many school districts going to year round calendars and families having a more flexible vacation schedule. Either way, I think early Feb is a great time to visit. Just beware of any late Jan marathons, Feb holidays (like Mardi Gras, Super Bowl Sunday--MK does a special parade and crowds may increase depending). This may not matter to you depending on your travel dates.

I have seen 60-80's average and have seen it up toward 90 mid-February. But I have also seen it snow in Florida at Disney when I was little. So in the winter months I saw prepare for 60-70's likely and 40-50's for the lows. But that February I saw it 90, we began the week in coats, long sleeves and gloves and ended sweating our butts off.

As others have said, it is really unpredictable. I don't really care for going in the winter because of that. We've had near-freezing lows and highs in the upper 80s on the same trip, and that kind of variation is rough to pack and plan for. However, the crowds are low and it is better than being at home (in Michigan) freezing our butts off!

The pools are heated and depending on where you're from you might find even cold FL weather okay for swimming. We do. I have pictures of my kids swimming on our Jan '08 trip under the watchful eye of lifeguards bundled up in parkas and gloves. :) But my kids are used to cool weather swimming. Our high today is supposed to be 71 and the water temp in our river is about 60 degrees, and two of my three went swimming this morning. In a pool heated to 80+, even 40s and 50s look like swimming weather to them!

I've been in January twice and the highs ranged from mid 50s to mid 70s both times I was there. One morning, we got up and the wind chill was 36! That was still about 40 degrees warmer than the wind chill we were used to at home though. I'm not bothered by the cooler weather. I am more comfortable and have more stamina in January than when it's over 90 with 99% humidity in the summer.

We are coming from nj
We usually always go in sept or October
This would be our first time in January or February
I was thinking of going January 30 to February 6 or February 12 to February 20

Crowds can get high during Presidents Day week. Check a crowd calendar if you have a choice of weeks.

It is predictably any of frigid, hot, or comfortable or anything in between.

I have gone when it felt like a summer day and when it felt like it could snow. (It has snowed a few flakes in Orlando before!)

Pools are heated, but it is subjective on whether you can swim. Depends on where you are from and air temps.

You will need to pack with a variety of considerations.
Recheck the forecast the day before departure.

I saw a trip report with pics of a family from far up north where it was so cold that they conceded to their wintry costs,
Gloves, hats and scarves.

Don't assume that just because
You are from up North that the 30s will feel more balmy.

In 2014 we traveled and it was blustery/rainy in the 50s. We has a crappy winter in Virginia and 50s were always welcome as feeling Springlike. It was sooo cold to me in Florida. (I have since moved back and thought all the "cold" snaps did not feel cold at all this past winter.). And, the weather bounced between warm enough to swim and cold.

So, be prepared. We are unable to predict what kind of weather you will experience.
