Weather in February?

I'ver read on the boards that it can be as warm as 80 or cold. But does it mean "winter coat, hat and gloves" cold, or sweatshirt cold. It's hard for us northerners to understand when we are used to below freezing on a regular basis (althouth this year we've been pretty lucky so far).

Just trying to decide how to pack. Any ideas? We'll probably need the coat to come home in anyway.

We leave out of ISP and I usually run from my car to the terminal because I wear capris on the plane! Dress in layers, no you won't need your winter coat unless you plan to spend a lot of time outside at the airport (here in NY that is). I go every Feb. and wear capris and shorts with short sleeved tops and a long sleeved shirt and sweater/sweatshirt on top. And I always put on my bathing suit and sit by the pool (even if I'm freezing!). What we order at the pool bar usually warms us up. Have a great trip! We'll be at the BCV too maybe I'll see you there - look for 3 youngish middle aged ladies laughing a lot.

Averaging upper 60's to 70's is usually a good bet. The sun shines however, so to us NY'ers it feels wonderful! The pools are heated too, so it's only cold when you get out.

We have been the last 4yrs and have had really good weather and hope it will stay that way. Some days have been in the 80's but always seems cool in the evenings.We think its one of the best times to go. Have fun!!!!

If you see days forecast only in the 60's, I would bring heavier stuff for night. It gets dark early in February and gets cold fast.

I have also tinkered with the idea of going in February- 2006. (to avoid crowds) I love to swim though and I am wondering if it will be warm enough ?

You never know. I went early February one year and some days were close to 80. The average for Feb 1 is high of 72, low 50. The average for Feb 28 is high 76, low 53.
