We are going to WDW in December (10-17th)! :cheer2:

We are planning on taking the pop up w/heater & a/c. I am starting to get "cold feet" and am considering getting a room instead because I'm worried about the weather. Anyone who can tell me what it's like in early December.

I'm from Georgia so anything below 50 is cold to me. The pop up will stay warm enough but I'm just concerned about being in the parks all day if its cold and then coming back to a cold place. We like to sit outside at night because the sofa in the pop up is so uncomfortable. I could bring a propane heater to put on our "porch" I suppose since we cant have a campfire.

Room or camper for December? What do you think my fellow DIS experts??? :wave2:

We went last year 1st week of Dec and weather was Mid 80's all week, we stayed Wl and kids swam every day. We are staying Fw this year same time. I have read on the boards that the weather varies greatly from year to year depending on the fronts. You probably would have to have a sweater or light coat to sit out. My sister has lived in Tampa over 30 years and never used a heater. I would prepare for both types of weather.

Thanks Becky. How I would LOVE some 80 degree weather!!!!!! Perfect!

My luck, they will have an artic cold front from Canada while I am there.

I think if its really really cold, I could put up my screen room and put plastic around the outside of it and run a space heater. That would give me an extra room.

Does anyone leave their coleman heater running during the day while your out in the parks? I'm talking about the one on the roof of the coleman pop up. Is that safe?

The December weather is not consistant. Dec 2003 trip was warm upper 70's not a drop of rain :sunny: . Dec 2004 we had rain 6 days of 9 and a few days in the 50's :cold: . My highly prepared DW had packed the gloves and winter coats ( we come from a place that actually has winter) so we were ready.
I think the key is be prepared for anything !
We rarely use our propane furnace in our travel trailer. When we are at a site we use a 1500 Watt electric heater and it keeps the 27ft trailer warm enough for us.

Have fun

Scott
