We just planned a week vacation December 23 - 29 and I have no idea what the weather will be like there. Anyone know? What clothes should I pack for us. Will it be warm enough to swim?

Thanks in Advance!!

It was exceptionally cold last year at that time. Be sure to bring warm coat, hat, and gloves just in case. The year before we were able to swim a few days at that time. I think the weather at that time of year is unpredictable, so be prepared for everything! Lots of layering pieces!

We have always gone to WDW in early December and it is still REAL nice when we go--pool weather most days other then when it rains etc. We did go once a few years ago right after New Years and it was pleasant during the day (75 or so) and did get a bit cooler in the evenings. I would suggest bringing a light coat, sweatshirts-sweaters, and jeans--but wouldn't go too overboard with warm-wear until closer to your trip when you can watch the weather channel or something to see for yourself what the weather in the World will be. Going to WDW in Dec (during the Holidays) is wonderful--they have beautiful decorations etc..so even if it does get cool during the day or night you can always travel from resort to resort checking out all the different deco's and have some fun that way! Have a great time!

Being from Chicago it shouldn't bother you near as much as others.
The 'locals' and others from warm winter climates will dress like eskimos even when it is a sunny day in the 40-50's.
In the mornings when it was in the 30's (January) the outdoor CM's had gloves, heavy winter coats and long johns on. ;)
But just like in the north, when the sun goes down, it is NIPPY. At least for us last January. I was even happy to have my winter coat while staking out fireworks and Illuminations seating.

During the past 5 years, I have:

1) Gotten a sun tan at Typhoon Lagoon
2) Gotten wind burn at the Magic Kingdom
3) Bought gloves twice (I'm from the Chgo. area too and am used to the cold)
4) Saw night temperatures in the upper 20's last year.
5) You can pretty much plan on a variety of weather!!!

I agree with everyone else, be prepared for anything! I went in the beginning of December and this is what happened:
Day 1, rained all morning, but temperature was in the 80's, cleared up.
Day 2-5, BEAUTIFULLY sunny, but COLD!!! Temp was in 30's-40's all day. I actually wore thermal underwear, gloves, and a hat!!
Day 6, back to the 80's. We were finally able to go to a water park this day (it was closed on the cold days). Then at night, there was a thunderstorm!!

One thing...if it's a cold day, be sure to layer. i.e. wear a t-shirt under your jacket or sweatshirt. Even though it might be cold outside, Disney more than compensates by making sure the attractions are very warm.

Would check out the Weather Channel one week out... and THEN pack!

Swear.

:D :D :D
