What kinds of clothes should I bring for a possible trip in December? Never gone this time of year and can't wait to be there during the Christmas season. Is it too cold to ride things like Splash Mountain and Grizzy Bear?

It's really hard to say. The weather down here can be unpredictable. I would guess that you would probably want jeans and sweatshirts but it wouldn't be unusual for there to be a heat wave - or it could be really cold (by SoCal standards) and you'll wish you had coats. You'll have to wait until the date gets closer to really know what to pack but if I was planning I would plan on layers. I would probably bring jeans, t-shirts, long sleeved shirts and sweatshirts and maybe a jacket or coat. Evenings can get especially chilly.

We've gone at christmas time twice and again this year. The first year it rained the first 2 days, we bought panchos, but it was warm.
The second time it was really warm, and sunny.
I will make sure we have sunglasses and or hats, I won't bring shorts, but capri's and skirts, maybe a pair or two of jeans. During the day we were in just t-shirts, but needed light jackets or a hoodie at night, we stayed until midnight so it would be cool.

Water rides are hit or miss. Depends on the day. They do have a "winter" setting where the likelihood of getting really wet is reduced.

Here is some more info:

I think it really depends what part of the world you are from and whether or not you consider 40* tmperatures + wind chill (and sometimes rain) at night cold. Where I am from, that's pretty cold. However, I have noticed that January tends to be colder and rainier than December. I would dress in layers and rent a locker to store stuff in if you don't want to leave the park or get hot, etc. I found it to be cool in the am, warm in the afternoon, cold at night, really cold late at night. HTH! :goodvibes

We went the first week of December 3 years ago. We were not prepared for cold weather and had to walk from out hotel to Target to buy jackets. BURRRR

Thank you all for your advice on what clothes to bring and how the weather is normally. Bringing extra clothes to put in a locker is a great idea. We have always gone in the spring or summer so this is a new experience in the winter. So excited to go in December and see all of the decorations!!!

Depends on where you are from and what you are use to.

We went during December a few years ago and were running around in shorts and tank tops while the locals were wearing winter coats, hats and gloves. When the sun went down we would switch to jeans and a light jacket but that was the heaviest it ever got. Of course it was 20 degrees when we left home so the 60-80 degrees felt really warm to us.

We have experienced every kind of weather in December. It rained on us last December although it wasn't overly cold. We have been in t-shirts and shorts and hot. We have also has a year that was so cold we wore coats, hat, glove, and scarves....and rode Mr Toads wild ride over and over just to warm up..LoL
The best thing to do is to check the 10 day forecast for Anaheim before you go. I am hoping for some nice :sunny: weather this year....a girl can hope right?!

I've always found that layers are good when visiting CA. Or living in CA. I remember well bundling up for walking to High School in San Jose much of the year, slowly unlayering as the day went on. But that's near San Francisco, not southern CA.

Our first big family trips were in September and then December. We found the daytimes in December to be much warmer than most of the daytimes in September. But then...in the evening, it got cold fast (I find it gets cold fast in Anaheim, once the sun goes down), and it rained at least one evening. That's the evening my guys wanted to leave for the hotel, I stayed, and I rode Grizzly for the first time! I wore fast-drying pants and had a poncho on, and I was FINE.

I don't wear jeans; haven't done so since I was a teenager and finally realized "these are just NOT comfortable and weigh approximately 800 lbs"...in fact, at the parks, i generally wear knee length, Hanes brand cotton skirts with cotton shorts under, and as long as my top half is covered for warmth or relatively uncovered when it's hot, I'm happy and fine. For feet I either wear my Crocs Athens or my running shoes, and I change shoes through the day as I need to to stay warm/cool/comfy.

We'll do the water stuff; just gotta make sure you have something to change into, something to protect what you don't want to get wet, or wear something that will dry fast.

This was our experience as well during the first week of December last year. I don't think we ever saw temps below 65 but we'd come from temps around 15 so we were enjoying the warmth while the locals were dressed as we'd have been back home.

Too cold for Splash? No. Too cold for Grizzly River Rapids? IMO yes

I don't know about that. I got drenched head to toe on Splash last week. LOL! Thanks goodness it was warm.

But, yeah, you just never know here. It can be 40 something one night and 90 on Christmas. Bring options!:)
