Hello,
My DH, DS, and BIL's family are traveling to Disney World in December 16 to December 24. Just wondering want the weather would be like??
Thanks

We went last Dec 18-2Jan and the weather was absolutely fantastic. It did get a bit chillier at night time but a fleece was adequate.

Thank you for your help!! I just wanted to get some clothes for DS and I am not sure what to buy!!

We took lots of long linen trousers but dh still wore his shorts. In all i think you have to be prepared for all types of weather. It is a great time to visit though.

You really have to be prepared for all kinds of weather, as an earlier poster says. Even if the weather forecast says all warm or all cold, pack some of both types of clothes because it can change mid-trip. For our December trip, it was chilly (jeans, sweatshirts, and hats for us Georgians) in the mornings and evenings and then warmer (jeans with short-sleeve T's) in the afternoon. For us we wore a lot of layers and changed as the day went on.

For my toddler, we would put him in a long-sleeve onesie with jeans/sweatpants and a t-shirt over it and a "hoodie" sweatshirt in the AM. As the day went on, we took off the hoodie, took off the T, took off the long-sleeve shirt and put on the T, and sometimes changed him into shorts and then we worked our way back up at the end of the day. :) At least his clothes are all little!

we usually go in December to Disney for our family vacation. nothing beats Santa visiting the world.

As mentioned earlier, you need to prepare for everything. We've seen it hot where you could wear shorts to it freezing, where we had run to walmart to buy some sweatshirts and such.

We were there almost exactly the same dates last year - Dec 15 - 25. It was surprisingly warm! We wore t-shirts, shorts and capris most of the time. We took fleece jackets to the parks and left them in lockers for the evenings but we never once needed them. We stopped taking them midway through the week. It only rained once and we were just leaving Animal Kingdom for the day. We got pretty wet going to the parking lot, but we didn't care since we were heading back to our resort.

I know the weather can be extremely variable that time of year. We just happened to hit an unusually warm period. Right after we left, they were forecasting storms and considerably cooler weather. I'd say pack for everything!

Thank you for all the infomation!! I am trying to get some short and T-shirts for DS (year old) now because we live in NY and we will never find it in December.

Hey, we were there the same time, the 16th-23rd!! It was a GREAT weather week!! We wore our shorts the whole time too- even at 1am in the morning at the MK!! Never needed a jacket and it was wonderful. We got caught in that same rain storm. We were on our last day at EPCOT- must have been the 22nd- and that evening it just poured. We ran into Mousegear to get dry and the rain just seemed to not be letting up. We purchased 2 umbrellas and got huge shopping bags from the CM and put them over DD's feet and poked a hole in the bottom of one and put on her as a jacket. She rode in the stroller like that and looked quite funny. We made a dash for the busses and had to wait FOREVER!! We were drenched.

We went the week after Thanksgiving in 2005 and the weather was much colder. It wasnt too bad, the first few days we wore shorts, but then had to switch to jeans and jackets and our last day we had hats and gloves. You really just have to plan for everything. I always take those stretchy gloves (you can get them at the $ store) because they are small and easy to carry and inexpensive. I like to have gloves with me just in case- I dont like for my hands to be cold.

I just reading all your posts and I am just thinking on how much luggage we are going to have;) ;) ;) !!!! It is soooooooooo worth it to be prepared !!!

We were there Dec 23 - Jan 4, 2007.

For us the weather was not nice enough. We had a villa with a pool and spa.
It was to cold more than half of the time to go swiming in a heated pool.

We knew this might happen. We brought so many clothes! We needed them.
Cold in the morning and night. Nice at noon!

Ya never know.

We loved being there for Christmas and New years but...
The weather wasnt warm enough and the crowds were worse than June!

Im gald we went for the holidays once. We would never go again Christmas week.

This time we are taking the kids out of school! Trying September.

We went in 2003 (the week before Christmas) and the weather was up and down. We had a freeze warning one night and went swimming another. No rain but the temperature can vary. Crowds are non-existant but the closer you get to Christmas, the more crowded it became. We practically walked on any ride up until the Saturday before Christmas when the crowds came and came and came! Good Luck!
