Hi all,
Trying to figure out what to pack for our honeymoon (we are coming right from our destination wedding, so we want to keep it as simple as possible). What is the weather like for the start of December? Jeans, shorts, sweatshirts? Is it warm enough to go swimming? Thanks!!! popcorn::

You'll probably need to pack all that you mentioned. December is a very common time for cold fronts to go through Florida. One day it can be humid and well into the 80s and the next (after a cold front passes), it can be in the 50s and 60s. If the sun is out it actually feels nice but if it's drizzly and/or rainy it can feel like a cold winter day!! We've experienced both scenerios during our December trips.

Some trips were all warm, while others were chilly, while others were mixed. Your best bet is to pack a mix of clothes. As far as swimming, if you hit the warmer days it will be warm enough to swim so pack the suits (after all they take up the least amount of room! ;) )

Have to agree with the above poster.........December can be a mixed bag of weather, I have actually worn a ski jacket and gloves to a few of the MVMCP and then other years, shorts are fine. You will probably need a sweatshirt or sweater in the evenings, although the temps do not seem low to most, they forget how humid it is here and it makes it seem colder than it is, kinda bone chilling. Check the weather sites, they usually will give you a 10-14 day forcast and go from there.

Chyam-I know this is off-topic, but I just love that photo of your Binky with Eeyore!! SO CUTE!!

Warm-to-Cool days.
Chilly-to-downright COLD (and very windy, on occasion) after dark.

Pack items that allow for layers of clothing.

Zip-on gym warm-ups that can be worn over shorts or jeans are great.
Wear them to the parks on the chilly mornings, then, zip 'em off (put in a locker) when the sun warms up.
Later, when a mild daytime outing turns frosty in the evening, zip 'em on again.

It has actually dropped into the lower 30's on some of our winter trips.
(Disney had to replace many to the outdoor plants due to frost damage.)

Thick "letterman-type" jackets are good to pack, too.

We even pack thin thermal underwear in one of our backpacks so we can slip it on in a restroom if we plan on doing a late EMH and there's a WINDY COLD SNAP.
Our earmuffs get plenty of comments (like WHERE can WE get some?) and they can make a damp windy miserable night quite bearable.

OTOH, sometimes the day temps are in the 80's, nights in the upper 60's..

The point is, since the weather is SO VARIABLE (year-to-year, or even day-to-day), and
most folks make a major investment in a WDW trip, it helps to "pack for all temps" just in case. It can save you if there's a turn in the weather.

Many trips in Dec, and as said, it can very, a lot. Best is to be checking one of the weather sites (I generally use www.weather.com) and get an approximation of the weather trend before you go. It can be quite accurate. Most often the temps are low to mid 70's daytime (with chilly mornings) and low 60's, upper 50's at night. But I have been there when very cold, wearing Chicago winter coats, gloves, hats. We did an Illumination cruise one night, I felt I was on the North Atlantic in the middle of January :cold: And other times I felt like I was in Phoenix. You do need a variety of clothing. And yes, the pools are all heated, warm enough for swimming, at least the water will be.

Enjoy, and congratulations.

Thanks so much everyone!!!! Thanks to all of you, we will be prepared for whatever comes our way!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!

In one word YES

In more than one word, you should be prepared for either warm or cool weather.

We are from Mass and have experienced very nice 80's weather and very cool - frost warnings - weather.

The pools are heated at WDW - and each resort has a hot tub (except for the values).

I wear jeans down on the plane and pack one other long pants, then shorts for the rest of the time. Coming from California, you may find it cooler than we do.

Normally I'll wear shorts out in the am (yes I can be a little cool) and when we come back to resort for afternoon break, I'll change into pants for the evening - after checking out the weather reports on the TV.

I just love it going down that time of the year, all decked out for Christmas too.

I've worn gloves on both of my December trips--not every day, but certainly necessary. I've also worn shorts on both those trips! Just plan on getting an extra big suitcase and packing everything. :)

It was mild early last Dec.most days low 60's, only swam twice @ WDW, spent most of pool time in hot tub:thumbsup2 .

Wore winter coats & gloves for MVMCP, still had a great time.

Assume AKL has a laundry somewhere onsite?

All of the above. It's like a complete change of seasons daily sometimes. You can definitely swim!
