I'm thinking of going to disneyland in ca in April/May/June 2012. My sister tells me that "June Gloom" is not such a great time and May is better. But looking at historical temps, May doesn't look like swimming weather. I have a 4-yr old and want to go before school gets out in June to avoid crowds and higher prices.

What month of those is warmer/better? Thanks much.

Here are historical averages.

I would not worry about June gloom. It is there. It is often just in the morning. May itself has "May grey". And some summer gloom lasts thru July and August.

Temperatures in June are good for swimming. In May it is too for pools that are heated. The drawbacks with May are the refurbs. See "Choosing When To Visit DLR: Summary of High and Low Season and When Each Happens" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=36509602

Hugely helpful, hydroguy. thanks so much. I'll look into early June before school lets out.

Weather can spike. I once went at the end of April and it was 100 on our arrival day, later in the week it was 70. This year I went the first week of May and we had days in the 90's. Went again in August and it was 80's all week, which was perfect.

It sounds as though you have come to a possible decision, but I will still throw in my experience for you. We went in March and had beautiful short weather. We went in May and had the first 2 days of sprinkles and cool weather, followed by 4 beautiful 75-80 sunny days. We went in 2 different Aprils and spent 5 days in pants and sweatshirts under sunny 65 degree skies, being blown around in 15 mile an hour gusts. We have also spent a week in shorts on the warm side in April! So, it really just depends exactly when you go!! None have ever been so bad as to keep us in the hotel or away from the pool, though the pool at the hotel was a bit sheltered.

I wouldn't worry about June gloom. Overcast skies are apart of Pacific coast weather much of year, not just June.

Weather is unpredictable, but it's safe to say that on most days So Cal is having a better day weather wise than the rest of the country. :thumbsup2
