Arriving late Thursday afternoon 3/24 and am sad to see the weather forecast calls for 80% chance of rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Of course the weather looks great Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. How accurate are the short range forecasts? Anyone else concerned about the weather Easter weekend?

In Orlando, nothing more than about 3 hours out is accurate enough to be even a little bit useful.

As far as worrying about it goes, why bother? Unless you have a weather machine there is nothing you can do about it, and changing your plans because of the weather prediction is a fool's errand.

I'm with ya - the report doesn't look great. The long range forecast accuracy this time of year in Florida are similar to those in other parts of the country. Warm and cold fronts come through as they would other places until then. My guess is that there will be some rain over the weekend but not as much as currently predicted. I'll keep watching the forecast too as we get closer but it'll likely change quite a bit.

I'm watching those days too and arrive the same day (but don't leave until the following Thursday). Hoping it is brief rains

Not very accurate. Just roll with it, not worth being concerned over IMO, you will be at Disney. Just because there is an 80% chance of rain does not mean it will rain all day. Just go and have fun!

As of this morning there is only a 20% chance of rain on Friday vs 80% so I won't worry too much about the forecast. I will pack ponchoes and rain jackets but now thinking I may also need waterproof shoes. Tennis shoes get kind of heavy when wet. Thoughts?

I wore tennis shoes once at Disney - never again! Wet shoes are the worst!. It's only crocs or flip flops for me.

I live only a mile or two away from WDW. The only forecast to pay attention to is the one for today, and maybe tomorrow. Even those are suspect.

This is absolutely true! Our last trip there was a slight chance of thunderstorms on the forecast the first evening even as of the night before. Instead we woke up to pouring rain and it rained to mid afternoon. The trip before that there was no rain on the forecast at all then in the morning it changed to chances of showers 1-4pm. But it ended up raining consistently from noon all the way through the night.

OP, plan for rain at some point and just go and make the best out of it. It's too unpredictable to worry yourself.

The best time to be in the parks is when it is raining. Low crowds. Just get the poncho's out, wear shoes that will dry out fast or pack another pair along. Just be careful of lightning.

We will be arriving in the state around that same time, but not headed to Disney until that next week (when you note it looks great). Like most things in Florida, it can be 80% chance of rain, and that could mean it rains for 15 minutes, and then the rest of the day is gorgeous. Hope it works out for all these next couple of weeks! :)
