I have no idea what coats to take. We've got warmish jackets and also thigh-length woollen coats - argh, help, I can't decide which to take!! We'll have t-shirts and jumpers, should we take the coats too or do you think the jackets will be enough? Goodness me, I have completely lost the ability to make decisions :) I hate being over or under-dressed - so annoying to have to carry around 4 heavy coats if it's too warm to wear them, but then again it's miserable to be cold!

i am going monday and i always think layers are the best way to go. so i have t-shirts and jumpers and a rain jacket but thats all. i dont mind piling on the clothes but i dont think it will be cold enough to wear a woolen coat at least i hope not anyway lol

I know exactly what yo mean - we go on Wednesday and cant decide what to take :scared1: Layers are a good idea :thumbsup2

Mommy2ash, oh no I hadn't even thought about the rain jacket!! I'm definitely going with the layers but just can't decide on the thickness of the final layer :) I was thinking how chilly it could be on the walk back to the hotel at 9pm-ish, but I suppose that's only 20 minutes and it's the rest of the day that we should go by.

OK, so anyone who's just been - what did you take in the way of coats/jackets and were you too warm or cold?

I checked the accuweather.com website for Paris before we went (you can get a 15-day forecast there too). It was accurate - it stated temps of 16-19 degrees during the day, with sun/clouds, and the possibility of some light rain showers.

I packed a waterproof jacket for DD, a fleece jacket for me, plus we had jogger tops with hoods. We never wore our jackets at all - the jogger tops were adequate, and were off more than they were on during the days. We didn't have layers either - just a t-shirt then the jogger tops.

We were lucky with the rain - it drizzled for about an hour early one morning (was over by 8.30) and at 7pm one evening, again for about an hour (might have been more, but we were at dinner by 7.30, so I don't know exactly when it stopped).

That's great to know, DLPDaft (and fab tip about the 15 day forecast too!) Ok, executive decision then, I'm just taking a jacket, not a coat. Now then, which jacket, the warm one or the rain one which isn't warm... they both have impact on what clothes go underneath and then what matches with what and then hood or hat and so on and so on and so on... and don't even get me started on shoes! I tell you, inside my head is an unpleasant place to be at the moment :)

I took a large jacket, which I didnt really need, it was just waterproof but to thick to wear *** the weather was warm.

So what I did was I bought a disney rain coat, and just wore that over my zip up hooded jacket as it was a bit drizzly in the mornings. The disney rain coats are on offer at a super 15 euros so well worth it!
