For all of you that have been to Disney during the middle to end of December-how is the weather then? We're used to the end of January/ early February weather, but have never gone in December.

I'm not expecting 80 degrees (but I'll hope for a miracle), but it would be nice for the kids to swim.

Thanks!!!;)

We were there this past December....temperature varies. We experienced temps ranging from 45 to 75 degrees. The pools are heated, so if the day is sunny you can enjoy a swim. Just remember to bring a warm jacket, hat,and gloves ...the evenings can get chilly. :sunny:

We were there for our very first trip to Disney Dec 12-20, 2002. The first 4 days it was freezing! At night it got down in the 20's. Worst of all when I called home it was warmer in Vermont:rolleyes:

However the final 4 days it did warm up to the low 70's.

Word of wisdom: be prepared! We only packed one pair of pants, needless to say I was doing laundry at the resort:(

Have a great trip! As you can see under my signature, my next trip will be in April when its WARM;)

Hi
We were in WDW in December 2002. I remember the mornings were a bit chilly. We started our days in shorts and felt chilled at times, but were happy to have shorts on as the day heated up. Evenings are also quite chilly- definately jeans, sweatshirts, light jackets and maybe gloves. We really didn't get into the pools that much- maybe once or twice on really warm sunny days, but otherwise, though it may have been warm enough for shorts it was not quite warm enough for the pool.

We were also there in Dec 2002 but we were there when it was COLD. We were camping and it got down to 23 a few days. Luckily we packed for all kinds of weather but Dec. is very unpredictable. Even last April we went and there was a cold snap but we were not prepared that time and had to go out and buy jackets.

Best advice....keep a watch on Weather channel up until you leave but still go packed for any type of weather. We have some family that were able to swim in Dec. a few years.

We stayed for 17 days in 2002 and we swam most days. The life guards at Coronado Springs looked more like the Ski Patrol and looked at us as if we were mad.
Glad we went at Christmas, but prefer Sept or Oct for weather. But whatever the temperature you'll have a magical time. :wave2:

We just got back from our first Christmas trip and we were in shock over the weather!

Our trip was Dec. 14-27 2003

Lets put it this way. I'm from Colorado and can easily wear shorts when it's at least 60 degrees. We couldn't wear any summer clothes during our 12 day stay. Went in the hot tub once...and it was VERY cold getting out. Our attire consisted of jeans, shirts, and sweatshirts. (Had to buy the sweatshirts at Disney because we only brought summer clothes!) Most days the wind was so cold, my ears would hurt! I was sorry I didn't bring my gloves and ear muffs with me!

The only day we wore shorts was Christmas Eve in Epcot. That was the warmest day we experienced. Shorts only lasted for 5 hours before the wind chill kicked in.

TIPS:

--I know you're expecting a mircle. We were too. Bring some winter clothes including sweaters, gloves, ear muffs, etc.

--Watch the weather channel during your trip, so you know when the warmest part of the day will be. Swim during that time.
Unless your children don't mind freezing coming out of the pool!

We went this past year from the 19-23. We had to wear coats, hats and gloves. On the 23, the weather started to warm up. You can't ever tell what the weather is going to be, so be prepared for all kinds of weather!

We were there the 12-17 this past Dec. It was quite chilly. My dd never got out of her jeans the whole trip. I swear those pants could have walked onto the plane all by themselves!! It was warmish during the day, in the sun. If it was cloudy or you were in the shade, you needed a sweatshirt and long pants. I wore a jacket at night. Figured we were from NE, so how bad could it be. Well, we going again in August and won't be complaining about the heat!! And then again for Thanksgiving. I just can't bear the thought of mittens in WDW again!!! And swimming??? No way Jose. The thought of getting out of that heated water gave me chills. I saw more purple lips, chattering teeth and shivering children at those pools than I've ever seen at the beaches in Maine!!!
