Weather difference from Beginning of Oct to End of Oct?

I have looked through all the info on the weather averages. But not easy to distinguish such specifics... We have been 2 times at the beginning of Oct with great weather! We could wear shorts/capri's and we could get wet on GRR and not worry about being cold. We would need a sweatshirt in the evenings, no big deal.

Does the weather drop much by the end of the month? Growing up in Colorado, we could wear shorts the first of Oct and be completely frozen by Halloween. Even here in Texas where we live now seems like that is the transition time of year.

I'm trying to pin down dates and hopefully start booking our Oct trip today! :cool1:

Thanks in advance for answering yet another weather question:)

The last 3 out of 4 years we've gone to DL during the last week of October for my birthday and the weather has been great each time. The first year it was in the 90's which was warmer than we expected. The other two years the weather has been in the 80's. There have been a few mornings and evenings where we've put on sweathshirts but there have also been days where it was shorts/capris and T-shirts all day long.

Thank you! Very helpful! My birthday is the last week of Oct as well (the 26th), and the kids have Monday the 29th off school, so I was trying to debate going this week vs earlier October that we have been thinking. I didn't want to sacrifice the warm weather though!;) Hmm....just when I thought I had everything figured out, now I have to decide on dates again....

Wow, nevermind! Just went to look at our Hotel Choice (the FFI) for my later October dates and there is a huge price increase over early Oct. I guess it's a sign to stick to my first plans;)

haha too funny cause thats my birthday too! :rotfl: Its a great week to go! We moved our trip up to September this year because our AP's expire in mid October. If it werent for that we'd be going that week as well.

That is funny! How have crowds been that week? Does it get busier the closer it gets to Halloween?

Now I'm a little bummed that the hotel is so much more! Makes me think it's already a very busy week for such a price increase.

What are the later dates you are looking at? I can check a cheaper rate for you.

Last year we went Oct 23rd-28th and mornings were a bit cold (I wore the same fleece jacket I wear up here in CO in Oct) but after 10-ish it would get very warm. At night we needed our jackets again - we wore shorts and capris though.

One day was freakishly cold the whole day - of course that was the day we picked to do Sea World and we did not bring our jackets :headache:

No big crowds that week - we had like 10 minute waits on the big rides, walk on for most rides. The Halloween party we went to was on a Monday and there were a lot of people but it was not unmanageable, we got tons of candy and rode everything we wanted with about 10-15 minute wait.

We'll be there Oct 13-20 and we're glad to see that the weather looks very nice! Thanks for the info everyone!
