When you say the sea was a bit nippy, what exactly are we talking? Will it be to cold to swim in? I mean, the Oregon beach ocean is nippy. In fact, your feet go numb in a few minutes. And thats in the summer! Please tell me we can snorkel and swim and such in May in the Caribbean!

a few May's ago we sailed the Western C. Weather was PERFECT. Warm, not too hot and / or humid.

We snorkeled at Grand Cayman and it was awesome. Cozumel on the mainlaid - underground rivers were very comfortable too.

It's been a long time since I cruised in May (1995), but I will never forget the temperature in Grand Cayman while we were waiting for our glass bottom boat excursion. 105°

One of my favorite times to travel. Its a great time for snorkeling too. Water is really clear.

My husband and I did an Eastern Carribean this past May (4th-11th) and the weather was perfect. No rain and warm, warm weather. We just finished doing a cruise at the beginning of this month and yuck!!!! The weather was cold and rainy...never again. We have already decided that we will do the Western Carribean in May the next time we cruise

Oh my, that all sounds so awesome. The only time I have sailed was in Oct 12, when we ended up in hurricane Sandy! Not fun.

Loved mid April n can't wait for May! Never cruise June to Nov for rates and hurricane season and don't like to cruise in Winter (unless Hawaii or mexico). Mar to May is the sweet spot! Orlando is nice too!
