Hi

We have booked our accomodation for 6th December-20th December 2007. I have never been this time of year before, but really want to see the park in xmas celebrations without being there for xmas so we decided we would book these dates.

Can anyone tell me what are the crowds like and what are the waiting times for certain bigger or most popular rides. What is the weather like? What do we pack? Are the water parks going to be open.

I know its a long time away, but I am so excited I need to start planning to pass some of the waiting time. 15 months is too long how am I going to cope :confused3

Thanks again.

I am going from the 5th to the 19th December and I can't wait!

We were going to go in October however the prices to go in December are a lot cheaper and we thought Christmas would be more magical and the weather will be more bearable for my daughter. we went to DLP in December last year and it was so cold!

I have been watching the planning DVDs with my daughter and we talk about which rides we want to go on and what we are looking forward to the most.

I have been reading about all the restaurants and character meals we would like to do.

We are also going to DLP in march so that should break the wait for next December up a bit.

only 470 days to go!

We are going 2nd-11th December this year. I think Blizzard Beach is closed but Typhoon Lagoon is open. We are going to pack shorts and t-shirts as usual, but also take a light fleece and some long trousers that zip off into shorts :thumbsup2

We have been several times in Dec. We usually go for the first two weeks. We have had days were it has been warm enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt and there have been other days when we've needed coats and scarves! Going in Dec you have to be prepared for any type of weather.

It's usually quiet at this time of year. However we have noticed that each time we go the parks are a bit more crowded than the previous time. It's a lovely time of the year to go. The parks look great all decorated. Be sure to go to the MVMCP, it's excellent. If you get the opportunity go to the different resorts there are some beautiful decorations and Christmas trees. I especially like the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian.

We arrived on the 20th Dec and stayed until Jan 6th. The parks we VERY busy over christmas, iinfact busier than I have ever seen them including mid-august!! but the atmosphere was fantastic :)

Parks tend to be busy from around the 20th December until the 3rd of Jan (4th Jan its deserted). Weather as everyone says is up and down. Definately need trousers for the night though as its a bit chilly

I have been in December twice in the past and it is wonderful with all the Christmas decorations. The weather as others have said can do anything. When I landed in 2004 the pilot gave us the temperature outside, I thought he said 30 degrees when it was in fact only 13 degrees the same as at home, it warmed up again though. Crowds were very manageable with waits of under 15 minutes in most cases and hardly any need for fastpasses although I would imagine the parks would be starting to get larger towards the end of your trip. Happy planning!! :)

Hi

Thanks for your help. I cant wait to go and see the christmas decorations. We are staying in Port Orleans Riverside so we will definately go in Grand Floridian to see thier decorations. I can imagine it will be lovely. I will def go to MVMCP. Cant wait

Yeah snow in the Magic Kingdom! Best part of MVMCP. Also the Osbourne Family lights in MGM were fab last time I saw them

Hi

we've been 7 times in late Nov or 1st 2 weeks in december

last years was the coolest, but for us brits warm enough most days to wander around in shorts, just remember evenings the sun has gone down so a fleece or similar will be needed. Been other years where it has been as warm as UK summer

tends to be little rain - occassional snow - try celebration as well as MGM for snow

had a new experience last year we were the first into Typhoon Lagoon at 9:45 even though it had been open a while

we were the big kahuna (?) rec'd free towels, locker, special seating area on the beach overlooking the pool and refillable mug and treated like royalty for the day!!

as a 40+ december in disney gets me in the mood for xmas, shorts and xams trees do go together! :cool1:

Hi
I just had to reply as my father was selected as 'Big Kahuna' in Blizzard Beach ironically on the last day of our holiday, my parents still talk about it now, it really made the last day of our holiday special.

This year we are going first two weeks of December, clearly hoping for a little sunshine but just eager to absorb Disney at Christmas.

We're staying at Port Orleans Riverside this year from 8-15th December. Can't wait to see all the decorations! :Pinkbounc

Our motto is that it can't be worse than weather in Newcastle! So any sun is a bonus!
