I am new to this board but have been reading it for a while just recent signed up.

Here is my question:
We will be in Orlando from 9/15 to 9/19. My wife is telling me that the weather is going to be bad around those time. Is it going to rain on my parade?

tropical depression #8 is making a play for Clearwater by saturday so that should push rain into orlando. just get a poncho and have fun:smooth:

I just checked for our trip next week - not sure if we will be able to fly there though - www.orlandotripplanner.com has a link to Orlando's 10 day forecast that you can check there. This site might have one too, I'm not sure where it is though. By the way, it said "scattered showers" for most of the days I checked.

Our family owns charter fishing boats in the Clearwater Beach area. We are planning on preparing for a possible Tropical Storm all day tomorrow (double up on tie-up lines, securing loose canvas, moving freezers to higher ground etc.).

Obviously with out business in limbo everytime a tropical system threatens we monitor the weather very close. Basically at this time we've been told to expect landfall between the mouth of tampa bay and cedar key sometime LATE Saturday night. Rainfall amounts could exceed 20 inches due to how slow the system is moving. It's currently expected that the storm will be at least a category 1 hurricane before landfall. Obviously with how slow this system is moving it will be around for days and all this information is likely to change.

I would avoid the themeparks if at all possible this weekend. With the national trajedy we are facing, not much attention is on this storm. It could in fact be very dangerous, and unfortunatly with the lack of coverage could catch many off gaurd.

When I went this past weekend (boy was I glad my wife and I left on Monday!) the weather was thunderstorms every single day. That said, we actually didn't get rained on once in the parks. Most of the time, the storms don't come out until 3 PM or later when you are finished with the parks. During the week, the parks are so empty you can finish going on all the rides by 1 or 2 if you get there when they opened.

it is wet, it will be wet tomorrow, it will still be wet saturday. and oh yeah the wind will blow. as the ducks swim by the front porch i would not think that this weekend would be the best time to do the theme park thing:smooth:
