We will be there this weekend for 3 nights, and then on to Carlsbad, CA. The weather reports call for 60's and 70's for highs, 50's and 60's for lows.

I am so used to WDW that I was automatically packing for Florida weather, with tank tops and shorts. Heck, even when it's in the 70's in Florida, it's humid, so it feels hot.

Should I change my packing plan and add long pants and jackets?

Yes, you should. Unlike my one experience in WDW, where it never cooled off enough to put on a sweatshirt or jacket, DLR gets quite chilly in the evenings and extra layers are a must. Shorts and tanks are not really even enough for the daytime right now (highs are in the low-mid 70s--I'd still wear long pants and t-shirts in the daytime). Today is going to be the warmest for the next week according to the local weathermen and it's only supposed to be in the mid-70s at DL.

Basically Capri pants, jeans, tshirts ect right now with a jacket for in the evening.

Pack layers, especially for Carlsbad! It's much closer to the ocean and this time of year there is lots of fog. It's quite possible that you can spend a whole day in Carlsbad and never see the sun. We were at DL on Sunday and the sun didn't come out until about 3:00 - until then it was shorts and sweatshirts for the kids. Of course, DS wears shorts year round. I opted for jeans.

Lots of May Gray in Carlsbad right now. I expect it to be June Gloom by next week.

Thanks everyone for the info. I knew about the May Gray and June Gloom stuff, so I was expecting it to be cloudy alot of the time, but I was still thinking like we were going to Florida, where it can be very hot and sticky even when it's cloudy.

I think I'll take jeans and capris, and 2 or 3 pair of shorts, and definitely a sweater or jacket.

We'll be there on Sunday too!! Wish it was for more than 1 day but we'll just have to wait for Oct. for htat. Anyway, not much humidity here so I'd definitely pack some pants and sweatshirts for the evenings. It can get pretty chilly. It was pretty warm here today but I hear this weekend is supposed to cool down quite a bit. Have fun!!

I would never plan a trip to DL without a light jacket and a pair of comfy pants...
