Weather at Disney 1st week of June???

We're coming from Ohio with small children (ages 9, 6, 2, and 7 months)... I'm worried about the heat. What is the weather like the 1st part of June.

Also-- are the crowds still moderate since school is not out yet for all schools. We're travling May 30th - June 8th.

We have went at that time for the last 6 years. It's hot and you can get some pretty big thunderstorms that time of year.

We're from Louisiana, so we're used to the heat and it still get to us. We always plan on a rest/swim break back at the hotel during the afternoon.

The humidity is usually pretty high at that time of year, so it makes the heat feel even worse.

It is great swimming weather, though.

The crowds aren't that bad. A lot of Southern states are out of school by then, but we still find things very manageable.

Our kids are much older than yours, though...so negotiating crowds may be a little tougher for you all.

It's very hot, and very crowded...but it's Disney!

Just try not to over do it during the heat of the day...take naps or play in the pool. Hit the parks early, and stay later when the sun goes down.

And Budget for extra drinks and cold treats...

We always go the second week in June and we love it. Yes, it is relatively hot but, if you plan out your days it's not so bad. We usually take advantage of the EMH's. We have older children, 17,17 and 11, so we tend to sleep in until around 9:30, get up and get ready, go to have a really go breakfast, then head back to the room and hang out at the pool until about 1 or 2, then we get showers and head to the parks. Most of our dinner ressies are the last lunch seatings, which saves us money if we are not on DP ( we are staying at the Dolphin and can't have DP) then we hit the parks according to the late EMH's and stay until like 2am for the fun. We get a snack later if we are hungary. This works best for us because it's not so hot later in the day and we still get to spend a good amount of time at the parks. Sometimes we hit the parks early like AK so we can go on the safari, then head back to room around 11am when it starts getting hot.

We've been a couple times the first week of June. Crowd is manageable since not all schools are out yet.

It is hot - we're from N.O. so we're use to the heat - but it's not as bad as July and Aug. We take breaks during the day so we manage o.k. with the heat.

There are those thunderstorms that roll through but that actually helps some park crowd clear out, and the rain doesn't last too long.

We just went last year from June 3-12. It was more crowded than we thought it would be, but it was manageable. The temps were high 80's/low 90's. Thunderstorms were brutal at times -- large hail, etc. We had 2 storms that lasted for hours, but all the rest of the rain was just start-stop. My suggestions: be sure to bring rain gear and a rain cover for the stroller(s) for the baby and toddler. also, what works for us when it's hot out is to get to the parks in the morning, then take a midday break at the hotel to swim and/or nap, then go back to the parks at night for dinner and more rides. We like to utilize the extra morning and evening hours. Have fun!

We went last year at the end of May and it was pretty warm. The worst part was the love bugs. Oh, they were every where! But, I think last year was the worst they had seen for a while and it may not be as bad this year. The lines were pretty long, but if you have a plan you should be fine.

We were there in June 2005, just in time for Tropical Storm Arlene. It rained and stormed and rained and rained, all day everyday except for our first and last day. Those 2 days were brutally humid. My daughter got her face painted and it sweated off within minutes LOL. The crowds werent horrible, because of the storms. Here are a couple of pictures. I dont have the AK pics on this computer.
