Anyone recently back from a cruise that stopped here, what's the weather and conditions on the island been like? When I look on The Weather Channel app, it says rain/thunderstorms everyday. I'll be cruising in a couple weeks and hoping for sun and fun!:cool2:

we’ve cruised in fall and winter and had great weather. think florida - it rains there everyday but is mostly sunny, partly cloudy, slightly humid and in the 80-90s (feeling warmer to me due to the humidity). again, it likely rains everyday, unlikely you would be experiencing pouring rain all day. we’ve had bright perfect sun to cloudy, slight showers to start or end the day and everyday there has been great! don’t let the forecast of “thunderstorms” freak you out too much! :goodvibes

I agree. It's actually pretty with some clouds in the sky. It's not the rain that is the issue. The wind is the killer. If it's too windy the can't pull into the dock and then no island. Happened to me 2x's. We got really close but the waves were to rocky for them to park.

Both of our visits have been in May. The first time the weather was perfect--hot but not scorching and very sunny all day. The second time, however, it was gray and quite windy in the morning and by afternoon was raining slightly and so windy as to make being outdoors un-enjoyable. It wasn't particularly warm, either. All excursions were cancelled, and the snorkeling was miserable. I think it's kind of a shot in the dark. That was a twelve-day land and sea vacation. The forecast said 100% chance of rain, wherever we were going to be, for eleven of the twelve days. I suppose it did rain every day, but on every day other than our CC day, it lasted less than an hour and remained warm and fairly sunny. My personal policy is not to freak out about the weather. Forecasts for more than two or three days out are notoriously inaccurate, and even if your weather is going to be bad, there's nothing you can do to change it. On a positive note, before it got super-windy and everyone went back to the ship(in hordes), we still had a phenomenal time on CC that day, so unless you are completely unable to dock, it should still be a lot of fun!

We were at CC on 8/5 and had great weather and wind wasn't a problem. It was in the 80's and beautiful. Sunny most of the day, then mid-afternoon started to get overcast and looked like it might rain. Held off for two hours and then sprinkled for a few minutes and stopped. Two other days it rained for a few minutes that week and then stopped and brightened up to a nice afternoon. Have a great time!

I was on the 9/11 Dream sailing so we were at CC on 9/13 and prior to the cruise it was up to 90% chance of rain there. I don't remember any rain that day and it was beautiful and HOT, very humid of course. There might have been a passing shower that I didn't see or notice as my Mom and I headed back on the ship right before lunch.

Agree with the others, don't worry so much about the predictions and even if it rains, hopefully it's just a passing shower that happens quickly, just like in FL.

Just got back from 2 stops there last week and even though it looked like rain early, both days were fantastic (weather-wise and otherwise) :thumbsup2

We went last March and winds prevented us from docking. My DD4 was really bummed but the ship found some nice, sunny weather and we ended up having a fun Sea day. It probably would have been rainy/cloudy on CC all day so we ended up with the better deal. That being said...we really missed CC and booked another trip for this Feb.

We missed out last March too, so are going back to try again in Feb!

Just there two weeks ago and was 85 and sunny. A thunderstorm went around us at one point which is to be expected. Just a warning that there was a bit of sea lice in the shallow water.

I've been to Castaway Cay twice (once in early Nov and once in early Dec) and both times the weather has been cloudy turning to torrential rain. :sad2:

Going again right after Christmas this year. Let's hope 3 times is the charm, eh?

We were there the same day and our experience was much different! Torrential downpour for about an hour... Cleared up but sky still looked ominous.... Around lunchtime more torrential rain... Got back on the ship... We had enough
