Was wondering never having been to Florida before, I notice that some days can be quite cloudy and wanted to know does it still feel warm? Also how cold does it get in the evening at this time of year, will we need to wear jackets at night?

Hi Cazzie,
I am not 100% sure having only been in Dec before. However we are going this year end April/beg May and from what I have read I think it will be warm/hot even if it's cloudy. I am only intending to take one long-sleeve top (a hoodie or light sweatshirt- which I'll probably only need for the flight- always freezing!) and a light jacket (e.g. demin or cotton) in case I need it at night.

In December I didn't need my jacket once outdoors but it's good to have something for places that are strongly air-conditioned. Restaurants can be a bit chilly sometimes!

hope this helps - hopefully someone will come along soon who has actually been in May :)

I love the weather at this time of year - have been twice before and will be going agin next year. Most I've ever needed in teh way of warm clothing has been a T-shirt :cool1:

You should be fine cazzie as it usually starts getting hot towards the start of May, there probably will be a few clouds about every now and then but dont worry because its still nice and hot, also the night time temps are just right - should be around 65-70. Hope that helps

We came home last Friday & found that our week was very hot, with lovely warm evenings. We took jumpers and long trousers & they stayed in the case all week.

We have found when we have been April/May that even when its cloudy its still warm. You might find the only thing that is cold in the evenings is the restaraunts due to the air con:)

We went for the first time in may last year (usually go in sept) and the weather was excellent. It was apparently warmer than usual, it was around 95 some days :sunny:

We also went in oct last year and I found it a bit cooler in the evenings then, whereas in may I didn't need any long sleeve items.

We have booked again for this may we enjoyed it so much.

Alba ;)

End of April start of May is a great time to go because its right before the school summer break so theres hardly any crowds about.

Sounds good to me, nice and warm and not such large crowds :goodvibes that will please DH as he is definately not a crowd person.

We went last April/May and the weather was superb. Only ever wore t-shirts but I would recommend taking a long sleeved top just in case. 2 cloudy days all of the fortnight were still warm. Just a warning though, on these two cloudy days it rained! Oh boy it rained like I've never seen before! However, just as quickly as the rain arrived, it went away again. The crowds were small too. The longest we had to wait to get on any of the rides was 20 minutes and that was rare especially if you use fastpass.

Hope this helps, you'll have the time of your life.

We went last year for the beginning 2 weeks in April. Only ever wore shorts and T-shirts/vests. We took one thicker fleece each which we only wore leaving and entering UK! The first week we needed thinner hoodies on in the evenings but by the time we returned we did not even need those. Only had one day of rain and even then it was still warm. It will be even warmer in May!

May is our favorite time to go. We got back on Sunday - and we didnt wear our long trousers or sweaters all week. I did wear a very thin indian cotton shirt a couple of evenings though, and my son wore a sweatshirt in the evenings..

It is much warmer in May.. well not during the day, but it gets hotter earlier and stays hotter over night. At the beginning of April it was pretty cool first thing in the morning. From 11am onwards it was scorching!!!

Just back Cazzie, and the weather was fab. Very warm and mostly sunny during the day, cooler at night, but I didn't really need my hoody much at all.

:teeth:

I have been keeping an eye on the 10 day forecast and it looks like we may be in for some rain. :sad2:

Hi there all i can tell you is that we went in May last year and the weather was very very hot we never needed a coat or jumper in the evening but beware the air conditioning in places is quite cold so you may need something to slip around your shoulders we are off again in 3 weeks 14th May i can't wait hope you have a great time

i am going 28th may whitsun week anyone been then by the sound of it and what ive read on almanacs etc its going to be very hot,i normally go october shutdown

HELP :cheer2: :hourglass

Been here since April 4th and have yet to see rain. It did rain once but it was in the early hours so didn't care. Some evenings were colder than normal and a hoody was required but temps were (are) in the 80's most days. In fact today was the warmest yet, peaking at 88! We've been to Florida three times in May as well and you could count the wet days on one one hand. Humidity is a bit higher then, making it feel a bit stickier if you know what I mean, but all in all I'd say it's the best time of the year to go. Just make sure you steer clear of Spring Break!!
