Can anyone tell me what the weather is like, as well as the crowds, in January? DH and I were discussing a possible trip down (trying not to get my hopes up! ;) ), but didn't know if it was freezing? Crowded? :confused3

not humid, not hot. i would call it wonderful! it can get a bit cool (need a jacket or sweatshirt) but i never got cold on our january trip-we swam several days (it was like spring in california). crowds were............non existant.

January (and December and February) weather in Orlado is unpredictable. You can have days in the 80s or you can have morning lows in the 30s with highs near 50. That can all happen in one week!

You need to check the forecast right before you leave and still pack a little of everything...short sleeves, long sleeves, sweatshirts, heavier jackets, and even gloves.

you truly need to pack for anything. we've gone twice in january....in '03 it was cold enough for frost....then a few days later dh swam (not me, too cold!)....this year we got one day when it was about 25 degrees! both these trips were late january.

We're heading down mid-January. I haven't been in Florida then, but I've been in March and people thought I was nuts because it was only 72 degrees and I was swimming. Everyone else was too cold. But being from the northeast...72 is fantastic and I was going to swim!

We're looking forward to it and if we need a jacket or sweatshirt, we won't care because we'll be on vacation at Disney World.

What Bob and Crazywig said is exactly correct. It could be shorts and flip flops weather, or it could be bundling up weather. You never know. Impossible to plan.

Crowded? No way. January is one of the least crowded months, if not, THEE least crowded. In fact, January is typically when Disney offers it's reduced ticket prices for FL residents (because it's the least crowded then). January is usually FL Residents Month, but don't worry, it doesn't add much at all to the crowd, unless it's on MLK Jr. holiday weekend.

The best time that my friends/family and I would go to Disney would be right before a major holiday. Like, 7-10 days before Xmas, for example. You walk on every single attraction that Disney offers. Lines don't exist for eating, attractions, toilets, etc. It's great!
