I am looking at a week in Feb and I am curious to know what the weather and crowds will be like. Ds#1 will be 7, and ds#2 will be 18 mths. We will be looking at a family suite at on of the value resorts.

President's Day week is very busy ( Feb. 14-21 in 2009), Mardis Gras week is moderate, the rest of the month is usually moderate to low crowds.

We are planning Mardi Gras week ourselves, since dniece is out of school for 2 days anyway.

Weather for February in this region is very unpredictable. We've had freezing and windy or bright and warm.

Hi,

LadyShea is correct; as long as you avoid President's Day week you will avoid the largest crowds of the month.

As for the weather, winter weather in Orlando is completely unpredictable. You could have warm days (80s) with cool mornings, or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s. Or you could have a little of both, or something in between.

My advice is to pack a little of everything.

We went Feb 1-10, 2007 and it was AWESOME!!! We live in Illinois so wore winter coats on the plane. We also wore them at Disney a couple of days along with gloves. The temps hit the upper 70s a couple days and the kids got to swim. If relaxing by the pool is a huge part of your vacation experience, this may not be the best time to visit.

The crowds were low. Especially when we hit the parks at opening. We usually had at least two hours of walk-ons or very short waits and were able to knock out tons of rides before any crowds arrived. We were so spoiled that we refused to wait 15 minutes for Peter Pan one afternoon because we knew we'd be able to walk right on the next morning. We stayed at Pop Century and never had issues with waits at the food court and bus service was almost always great. The year before we went in January and had an almost identical experience with both weather and crowds. I don't know if we just got lucky, but it only rained one time each trip and the rain only lasted a short time.
