Since a few years ago I have worn skirts in the parks, and was wondering if anyone else wears skirts (or dresses) in the parks?

If you do, how do you handle the skirt or bottom of the dress in big rides such as roller coasters such as Aerosmith/Everest etc?

What I do is tuck what I can under my legs :lmao:. It has helped a lot.
I always felt out of place wearing skirts in an amusement park such as Disney. But I have seen people here wearing skirts as well,.

I'm mostly dresses type and always wear skin tight running shorts under my dresses. Jockey also makes some skin tight shorts that work as well.

I own 2 skirts from Atheta that have built in shorts.

I wear skirts every day, including when we go to WDW. Mine usually come to about mid-calf. I wear longer ones when it's cold, but it's never that cold when we're there.

I don't have any problems with mine. The only place where it's been slightly awkward was Sum of All Thrills. That hump in the middle made things a little difficult. The skirt I happened to have on that day was pretty full, though, instead of a narrow A-line, so it spread out okay.

The first time I went to the parks after starting to wear all skirts, I did worry about climbing in and out of rides, but it turns out that it's just not a big deal. I would wear something under my skirt if I were wearing ones that were any shorter, though.

I primarily wear sundresses in the parks. I find them cooler than shorts or jeans.

I guess I tend to tuck fabric from the skirt under myself, or between my legs, but I never really thought about it. :confused3

The only time I had a problem was getting in and out of space mountain. Or at least that's when I was self conscience about having a skirt on.

Exactly. I really don't know anyone that doesn't wear some type of shorts (dance shorts, running shorts etc)when they wear a skirt or dress anymore.

Same here on all of this

I've worn shirts with shorts underneath, and have also done the skirt/leggings combo. It doesn't work for really hot weather, but I do prefer the second. More comfortable.

I wear longer skirts and sundresses frequently and I never wear shorts under them.

Just don't wear pajama pants, you might offend another guest! :lmao:

LOL. aaaghhh. Sorry sam, there's a reason why we call them Pajamas. ugh, I admit this is one trend I wish would disappear. Nothing worse than grocery shopping and seeing the outline of someones backside and butt checks jiggling because they thought pajamas and slippers were appropriate. Most pajama pants a very thin material....

I digress,
I go to the world generally August and September and it's Africa hot. I wear sundresses all the time.
Never gave much thought to what to do on rides. I don't do RnR and every thing else keeps me fairly secure.

I went last September with a girlfriend who dressed for dinner. That was a bit weird, wearing high heels and a dressy dress every night.

I never wear short under skirts or dresses.:confused3 I've never had a problem with entering/exiting rides.

The only people I know that still wear wear shorts under skirts/dresses are all kids. I'm sure once they learn how to sit like ladies, that will come to an end.

I regularly wear dresses and skirts in the parks. Some days I feel like I get stared at a lot because I look out of place. But oh well, I'm very comfortable. :thumbsup2

And I've never had an issue with them on rides. And I do all.

And don't wear any extras.

I've worn dresses to all four parks and I can't think of a ride I haven't ridden except Everest (afraid I'd get nauseated going backwards!) and the only one I wasn't 100% comfortable getting on/riding/getting out on was space mountain. I just tuck the skirt under my legs and all is good. With space mountain I wished my skirt was a little fuller but I was careful and it was fine.

I wear skirts but I wear the long layered hippie and prairie skirts so I'm covered. :thumbsup2

I just find them so much more comfortable in the Florida weather.

Add me to the group who wears skirts or dresses but no shorts underneath. I was always pretty girlie when I was a kid (it all stems from when I was a young child and everyone told me I looked like my dad which made me think that meant I looked like a boy; ergo, I would wear dresses, usually pink, all the time) and just learned to sit ladylike. And, since I've been wearing them for so long, I really don't feel a need for anything underneath. I know how to walk, sit, stand up, etc. in a skirt without a problem. Then again, I am a 29-year-old married mother of one, so my skirts all come at least to the knee and most go below that. I figure no one wants to see anything higher than that. :lmao:

Space Mountain was a little awkward for me too. I had a just above the knee dress on and I didnt feel very lady-like on that ride.

I never wear shorts under my skirts.

There are skirts with shorts attached to them called Sparkle shorts. A lot of runners wear them. They are super cute and all my runner friends think they are comfy.
