Hi thanks in advance but I'm trying to make plans and need to know which resort I should be looking at. Will all resort only have a king bed in them and then I have to get another room. Thanks JIll

We have stayed several times at the Polynesian in an accessible room with two queens and a day bed. In fact, I think all of the rooms at the Polynesian--accessible or not--have two queens and a daybed, with the possible exception of the suites.

We stayed once in an accessible room at the Beach Club that had two queens and a day bed, but the room had fewer square feet than the ones at the Polynesian. Since we have two DDs who use wheelchairs, we love that the Polynesian rooms have plenty of space for them to move around.

I'm guessing the other deluxe hotels at WDW also can sleep five in accessible rooms, but I don't have experience with those, so I will leave it to others to confirm.

thank you very much, currently we are at looking at Port orleans riverside is this a option?

Most of the Port Orleans rooms, accessible or otherwise, only allow four people (a fifth person is allowed if it is a child under 3 in a crib). However, there are some PO rooms that have a trundle bed for a fifth person. It is a fairly small bed, so probably not appropriate for an adult or even a teenager. I don't happen to know if any of those rooms are wheelchair accessible.

Just looked it up online and it says all resorts offer accessible rooms. Here's a phone number off the website:

All hotels in the US are required to have some accessible rooms.
If you look in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, one of the posts is about the different types of accessible rooms and includes information about contacting Special Reservations (including this phone number, in case you can't locate this thread). There is a link to the disABITIES FAQs thread in my signature.

As was posted, most of the moderate resorts only sleep 4 in any room, with the exception of a small child in a crib or the few rooms in Alligator Bayoo at Port Orleans Riverside that sleep 5.
The biggest reason is space. An accessible room is no bigger than a non-accessible room. It's just that the room may be arranged differently to make room for accessibility features. If the room has a roll in shower, the bathroom must be large enough for the shower and space to use it.
The Deluxe resorts have larger bathrooms, so they may have room for the roll in shower without changing the shape of the bathroom. The Moderate and Value resorts have smaller bathrooms, so they often need the bathroom walls rearranged to 'take' some room from the bedroom to make the bathroom larger. The space left in the room may not fit 2 beds and still have space for a wheelchair to move around. That is why some rooms have only a single King size bed.

I don't know that I would try to fit 5 adults or teens in a moderate room (accessible or not!), at least not for an extended period of time. If you have little kids, it might be okay. Otherwise, what about a family suite at All Star Music?

I agree - five in a POR room with the trundle will be crowded, accessible or not, if all or most everyone is an adult, or adult sized. And as stated before, POR AB is the only moderate that even allows 5 people (unless one is under the age of 3) in a room, and they are small rooms.

If you have the budget you might look at renting a reservation from a DVC member for a 1 or 2 bedroom villa (be advised that onece yo do you will never want to go back to a motel room)living room, full kitchen, laundry, king bed and a whirlpool in a deluxe setting will spoil you.
