at Disney. It was our first family trip there. At the end, it was unanimous...WE MISSED UNIVERSAL. Yes, last year was our first & only visit to USO, but we wished we were there. Disney is nice & there is lots to do & see, but we preferred USO & will be back!

I had a sneeking suspicion that we wouldn't like Disney as much. I am a thrill seeker, as is DS 8, and DH loves simulator rides. I thought it was part of my parental duty to take DS to WDW before he was too old to enjoy it. I guess I waited too long, lol!

Things we love & missed about USO:

FOTL!!!
thrill rides (I especially missed the Mummy!)
simulator rides
convenience (being able to walk to both parks)
nicer hotel (yes WDW has, but we could only afford mod, because park tickets are so much more $$)
DH missed Nascar Cafe (wierdo)
DS missed MIB (beats Buzz hands down)

This is, in no way a put down of WDW. We did like it & had a good time. We just definitely prefer USO/IOA. We plan on returning in 2008. 2007 will be a beach vacation in Cancun or the like.

Welcome back into the fold d4rest. The prodigal son has returned. ;)

Just kidding, of course. I also have an AP for Disney but I would miss Universal if I did just a Disney trip also.

so d4rest, are you and the fam going to wear mouse ears when you return next year to universal??

jk

glad you saw the light.

before we lived down here we went on our first WDW trip. at a friend's urging, we added flextickets for SW and UO. it had been a week at WDW and we finally made it over to IOA. I remember standing in the nets in camp jurassic looking out over the lagoon and wondering 'WHY did we wait so long to come here?'

I'm getting a tear in my eye. :)

You guys are too funny.

Like I said, we liked Disney, but really liked USO. No mouse ears, although I was tempted to buy the Goofy pirate/bandana ears with the earings! Maybe it is because DH & I didn't grow up so thoroughly on Disney (no trips as kids) and DS is nearly a "tween," I don't know. USO/IOA just fits us better. I honestly feel badly for the kids whose parents won't give it a try. They are really missing out.
