So for those of you who are following our adoption process, we had our first home study visit this weekend and it went great.
It lasted a long time but our caseworker was great and we all hit it off right from the start. She was there with us for approx. 4 1/2 hours. Im not sure how long a home visit is normally but we were talking like crazy. She was amazed with our Disney collection and couldnt stop looking around at all our toys, lol
I said that is the usual response when someone walks in and the first question they ask is how many kids we have-which I then reply-2-my hubby and myself!
Now that reply will have to change soon!!!
So-I was worried for nothing. She didnt inspect our rooms with a fine tooth comb, she really was more amazed with all the plush, and toys we had. She did say some of the stuff on the shelves would have to be moved for safety reasons with a child, which of course we will do when the time is closer to her coming home with us.
The questions she asked were great-personal but nothing too too personal. She didnt ask us about sex,etc like someone said they might -but we still have one more home-visit to go-so who knows
I was also nervous about what to serve food-wise-and I wound up putting out coffee, cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, and nuts and raisins.
she ate nothing-boy am I glad I didnt buy more stuff
so all in all-it went great-we see her next week for our next visit
and then we get to finish up our paperwork.
I will keep you all posted...
