Okay, I am the person that made reservations at the camp ground for the 4th, with no plans on staying there, just wanted to use EMH on the 4th. As you all should know EMH was changed to the 3rd, so we canceled our reservation on the 4th at the campground. The park opened at 8 and we were the first ones through the gate and the first ones on main street. There was a guy in a wheelchair who pushed his chair in front of me at the rope. When the rope drop, he took off like a rocket. By the time we got to main street he was no where in site. I have no idea where he went. We went straight to the rope drop at Splash mountain and thunder canyon. We were the first to ride Thunder canyon. We then went to Splash mountain. Got right on and they let us stay on for a couple of rides since no one was there.. We did every ride without a fastpass, except for space mountain and never waited more then 15 min. By night time it was crazy and we heard alot of people complain about the wait times, but we never experienced any of that. We had a great time and we had tons of compliments on our shirts. You might of seen us. We were a party of seven, 6 from Scotland and myself form Minnesota, with tye-dye flag shirts with Mickey head for stars and our names and dates printed on them. They were a lot of work , but well worth it. so don't be afraid to go to MK on the fourth. I think they did us a great favor, by staying open til 3 a.m. the night before. It was one of the best 4th of July's I have ever had.:cool1::yay:

Glad you had a good time!

You left out the most important part, though. The fireworks! How were they?

I've always wanted to go on the 4th, but have been too scared to brave the heat and crowds. It's on my to-do list, though.

Thanks for the report. Gives me hope. :)

Fireworks were awesome. We had dinner reservations at the Plaza, so took our time eating and walked out of the Plaza and sat right there. You could not even get close to Main Street. My friends from Scotland really thought it was a good tribute to America. Don't be afraid to go on the fourth. Just get there early and have some reservations on the inside to eat, so you are guaranteed a place to sit down and get out of the heat a couple of times. I even went on Astro Orbiter for my first time. Should of done this a few years back, because once I got in the rocket, I had a heck of a time getting out!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

I did AK on the 4th and could not believe how empty it was! The Safari was walk-on, as was Dinosaur. Everest had maybe a 20 minute wait, but that was the longest I saw. Was able to walk into Nemo, FOTLK, Bug Show, Flights of Wonder. It was amazing! I met some friends at The Wave for dinner and watched the fireworks at the MK from there. They were awesome! They left early and I decided to walk into MK and it was great! Walked right on so many rides! I was even in my own boat on Pirates! LOL Maybe a lot of people stayed away bc they thought it would be bad. But it worked for me :thumbsup2 Glad you had a great time as well!
