We Shared a SWW...and more! Done...At Home! (10/17)

Our internet was down and boy did I get behind!!

I love going into the Mexican pavilion and looking around the market! But I really REALLY love going to the one in San Antonio!!! It is probably cheesy to locals (I don't know) but we love going and wandering around!! Those little animals were so cute!! But they are pricey....

I wish we could have made it into Mexico and ride the boat but Keith was too spent! Maybe next time!!

And the food...I have not eaten at the Chinese CS but I smell it and it smells just like all of the buffets around here which turns me off!! I love Chinese food but not necessarily the buffets! Sorry they got upset with you about not eating the food from there....

It's such an interesting dynamic to go from a place where everything from Mexico is either cheap, or you can bargain down for it -- to a place where everything is EXPENSIVE!! :lmao:

Now that I think about it, they were more thinking I was upset, and so that soured their mood. When really, I wanted them to have what they wanted, and then I would go get something for me...but I wasn't upset!! It's funny when you keep trying to convince someone -- "I'm not upset!!" And then you get upset trying to convey it --

No pastries?!?! I'm shocked.:rotfl2: You got some nice pics around France. I have learned, Kim Possible is not fun in the heat.

Sounds like everyone was getting a little tired. Lets see, where did you go...Canada?

Melissa...

you are a Dis-wonder. :rotfl:

I knew we had always passed it by, & none of us had seen that area before, so...

yes. ;)

On our way to Canada, my DH decided he wanted a beer. So, he pulled out a couple of snack credits, and -- oh, wait -- right...pulled out the KTTWC, and spent some $$$ on a big beer.

It was a good beer, but not worth the $$$ he paid for it. Here he is, at the counter.

ry%3D480

I took a pic of the not-so-hidden Mickey.

ry%3D480

I took this pic as we entered Canada -- and now I wonder if the person behind Jordan is a dude, or a chick.

ry%3D480

We went into the store to cool off for a moment and see what Canada had to offer us. There was a lot of "cabin" kinds of merchandise, with those bars of soaps I had taken a picture of in MK. There were also some wine-oriented things. I took a liking to this fellow:

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

My DH likes wine -- he really like these shirts. I bought him a hat for his birthday, afterwards, that said, "I wine a lot -- it makes me feel better"!

ry%3D480

I'm not one for the rustic lifestyle, but I looked around at the interesting items.

ry%3D480

This beaver was so cute -- I wanted my DD to cuddle him, and she really wasn't in the mood!!

ry%3D480

After I bought the hat, we went out to go to the theater. This little area was so pretty that my DD took a picture with her phone and used it as her background for a while.

ry%3D480

This area would be pretty...and is...but it stunk like chlorine.

ry%3D480

We went down into this area to the anteroom. The "caves" you see are the windows into the anteroom before you go into the theater. We had just missed going in, so were some of the first to arrive for the next showing -- this means we had a while. But we had plenty of seats to choose from.

ry%3D480

There were benches around the large room, and some things to look at, but soon people started filling in and getting cranky. I don't understand the crankiness, but I guess they were cranky that they didn't get there early enough for a bench.

When they finally opened the doors and we went in, I tried standing for a while against the poles, then gave up and sat on the floor, over to the side of the theater. People tended to go toward the front and middle, so if you avoided those areas, you had a good view of everything if you wanted to sit.

I liked Martin Short and his presentation -- very sad that his wife recently died.

The person is holding a purse, so I hope we have a woman, but I see your point. I feel like that is what I would look like if I worked out and lost some weight.

I love the Oh Canada film, but don't feel it is any better than the others except for having Martin Short. And it is very sad that he just lost his wife. I think I remember her from the old show Soap.

Canada is probably in my top 3 for the most beautiful areas in the World Showcase.

No, I agree -- it is a panoramic film, just like any other, but it was a cool diversion. And I was really surprised by all the faux landscaping -- they did an awesome job of transporting you somewhere else!

...now, if I can just ever get to eat in that restaurant that has the filet mignon with the mushroom sauce that everyone raves about...!! :cloud9:

We made our way, once again, to the other side of the world to ride Test Track. At least we were made to feel welcome...

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Handing over our fast passes, I knew I would have very little time to snap pics in line before we were on the ride, so I made a strategic stop for a scenic pic:

ry%3D400

You can see the girls are a little testy...I think they needed this ride to distract them.

ry%3D480

When we got to the cars, a little boy came along behind my DH as a single rider. The boy immediately said hello, and struck up a conversation with my DH, who was taken aback -- my DH is usually the one to start any friendly conversation with strangers. But it turns out that the boy had been on numerous rides on TT that day -- his parents just let him circle around several times to ride in the single rider line, over and over. So, I guess he got accustomed to meeting new people. :hyper2:

Anyway, we had a blast on the ride, with me monologuing for Natalie as to what was going to happen as we went through -- okay, I wasn't that annoying, but it kind of made it fun as we went along like it was all for real.

I always forget about the oncoming near accident, tho.

Here's our pic (you can see the little boy beside my DH):

ry%3D480

What's funny is, we met the boy's family after we got off the ride -- they didn't seem surprised that he had met us and we thought he was pretty cool.

We checked out the convenient vehicles they left for us in the path of the exit.

ry%3D480

"Oh, Lord -- give me a Cadillac, Cadillac, Cadillac!!"

ry%3D480

I went for a different mode of transportation:

ry%3D480

After that, we figured we'd had enough for the moment, and headed back to AKV -- my DH decided to annoy his DD. It was a crowded bus.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

"Stop taking pictures of me!!!"

ry%3D480

The final, 'he's just not going to quit' non-verbal communication.

ry%3D480

Next up: what did we find when we went back to the room??

Well....

I waited for a long time, but no one guessed.

If you'll recall, I said that the CM at the concierge counter told me that they would have a surprise for my DH to celebrate his birthday when we got to our room that evening...he was unaware of this. I was SO EXCITED to see what it would be!!

When we got to the room, there was a beautiful little bag on the table!

ry%3D480

It took some convincing, but we convinced Robert that it was his -- Happy Birthday!! But we didn't know what it was...:confused3

Would you open it, already??

ry%3D480

He is reading the little AKL Happy Birthday scroll...

ry%3D480

And here is what it says:

ry%3D480

And he got: A Journal!

ry%3D480

The amazing thing about this journal was that it was made from special paper.

Poo-poo paper.

You think I'm kidding.

I'm not.

ry%3D480

At first, we thought it was the Elephant Poo-Poo Paper Company. Then, we realized that the paper itself, was poo-poo. Cleaned poo-poo, I guess.
:rotfl: We had a good laugh over it!

We got a little "Welcome Home" from a mousie!! :cutie:

ry%3D480

Next up: scrounging for food...an easy accomplishment, since we were just a few feet away from the counter.

ry%3D480

I scarfed down a smoothie (ahhhh!), and took a quick pic:

ry%3D480

Some random images that I took before we went for dinner:

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Where do you think we went for dinner? It's someplace I've never been before...and it's not very close!!!!

...now, if I can just ever get to eat in that restaurant that has the filet mignon with the mushroom sauce that everyone raves about...!! :cloud9:

It is sooooo good!!! You must try it sometime!! And the Cheddar Bacon Soup and the bread....yummo!!! :goodvibes

Well....

I waited for a long time, but no one guessed.

How have I missed so many posts? I bet DH had a special poo-poo package waiting for him! :lmao:

That is a very cool about the journal though! I would want it for the novelty of it!!

I love Canada....I think it is such a beautiful pavilion!!

Hmmmm...where do you eat for supper? I do not know!! So I will just throw out.....WCC....I have drawn a blank!! LOL

Love the pics of Jordan. And the boy was too cute. How funny that he likes to ride that much.

I'm reading too many TR's and getting confused. :rotfl2: It's probably just my old age. Trying to remember where you have already eaten this trip.

Did you finally get to try Le Cellier?

I was thinking the same thing....I can't recall in the PTR where you hoped to go and I have a post-it note memory so I can't recall where you have already been...except Ohana because that report made me want to go there!!

If it is Le Cellier...then you are a teaser!! :rotfl2:

:lmao: We were trying to figure out where that journal went to -- we had a good laugh over it, but it really was a nice gift (of poo)!

We enjoyed Canada too -- although I still can't be too fond of the camping theme. How can enjoy being out in nature and not like camping?? :confused3

Not WCC... ;)

No, not Le Cellier -- ;) What's funny is, I think I talked about this place on the phone with you the other day!

Hint: it's CS.

Since we may have discussed this on the phone, if I get it right I probably don't deserve brownie points.:)

I'm thinking Wolfgang Puck Express or CHH?

Oh yeah, that really narrowed it down!! :lmao: I could spend the entire day guessing and still be very wrong!!

Yeah, I know -- not a great hint!!

:yay::yay::yay::yay:

YES-- it IS Wolfgang Puck Express!! And, if I may say so, for a CS meal, you are DEFINITELY getting a great deal.

Put any of those CS WDW pizzas up to Wolfgang Puck's, anytime...even a 3 year old could see the difference! :cloud9:

I hope to get to the tale this evening, but we have our Bible study tonight...so for sure, on Friday...!!

Man! I wish I had predicted because I thought WGP or else a far distance resort! For once I could have been correct!! Oh well....maybe next time!! I can't wait to hear your review of it! I could talk Keith into it after he read the menu (his palatte can be in a box sometimes) so we went to EOS--which was still very good!

BTW: I noticed your ticker...:rolleyes1....will you be giving a PTR when this one is done???? ;)

She better!!!

Jonas was asking on the premium plan if we could eat any CS meals, which I think is a waste, but maybe WGP wouldn't be a waste. I'll mention it to him.

And...I think i already have the makings of a good PTR...!

Wow...does he know what he's giving up in order to get a CS meal? :sad2: "Yes, please take back this T-Bone steak and send me a hamburger!!" :lmao:

We really didn't know what we were going to eat when we decided to pay DTD a visit.

ry%3D480

Alice in Wonderland had just come out, and so when I saw these guys, I wanted a photo op. You can tell by my DD's face that she was not exactly thrilled with my choice...

ry%3D480

This is totally embarrassing. I have asked my DH, and he doesn't remember, either. For some reason, we saw the need to stand in this Guest Relations line and ask a question.

ry%3D480

What's worse, it took a long time to get to the front of the line. What's even worse, they couldn't help us. How can I remember ALL OF THAT and not remember why we were there?? :confused3

The girls were shopping around, and I went to find them. They were browsing, but since they had spent all their money, enthusiasm was low. I lusted for this shirt:

ry%3D480

The girls hammed it up:

ry%3D480

So did I, but cleverly hid my enormousness behind Mickey.

ry%3D480

We shopped around a little more, and my DH caught up with us.

Eventually we got hungry. I looked at the map that I had picked up in the hour we spent in the Guest Relations lobby, and saw the Wolfgang Puck place -- and noted (somehow) that this was a CS restaurant.

When we got to the door, people were in line outside the door. This was to be expected, as people were thick as thieves in the whole place...even the little food places had people lined up. We determined that we would not be deterred, and got in line. Eventually, we got in the door -- a milestone! There were two little kids behind us.

ry%3D480

I feel I must mention this, because there is sometimes something in people that you notice and you want to say something, but it's not your business. The little girl behind us was about 6-7 years old, and the little boy maybe 5. They seemed to be playing, with the little girl giggling and twirling her little stuffed toy around. But then I started really watching them. The little boy was vicious, not playful. He was truly attempting to hurt this girl, by hitting and kicking at her. She was scared, I could tell, and was twirling her toy in front of her to distract the boy from herself, so that he would hit at the toy. He occasionally would, but then with an "UMMMPH!!" he would hit at her. She tried to keep the toy between them, and was fake laughing to try to keep the situation light. The adults never even paid any attention, at all, but talked among themselves -- two sets of parents, not paying attention.

It made me mad -- if I was the girl's parent, I DAD-GUMMED sure would have said something about that hateful little boy, who was NOT playing. Setting my teeth, I tried not to pay any more attention...and took a pic of the upcoming menu.

ry%3D480

I'm going to finish telling this tale this in a minute...gotta go get my daughter.
