We saw RV today...

and -hold on to your hats -it was not too bad. DW suggested we take the kids to see it since it was a rainy Mothers Day. There were several things that gave us a chuckle. Robin Williams was relatively subdued; Cheryl Hines filled her role nicely; Jeff Daniels was his usual amiable self. I went into expecting nothing, but was pleasantly surprised.

We thought about taking dd's to see it tonight, but I was not sure if it would be any good. From everything I have heard all the funny parts were the previews. So it wasn't bad? I love Robin Williams and didn't want to be disapointed in one of his films.

We thought it was cute. There aren't too many movies we can enjoy with our kids and this fit the bill. We used to camp quite a bit, so that helps because we have been on trips where everything goes wrong...

We saw it Saturday with the kids (DS10, DS8) and I thought it was pretty good. We were not expecting a lot, so we weren't disappointed. Robin Williams is good. There are so few funny movies made these days and even fewer that critics like (in fact, they NEVER seem to like comedies) that it is very hard to find anything that isn't full of violence and ... that a family can go to and enjoy. I never believe the critics because I have found that most of them do not have the same tastes as I do. They are mostly big city sophisicates that do not have children and are not looking for escapism type films. JMHO Jay

We really enjoyed RV and found it very funny. I would recommend it. We camp so we found some parts particularly amusing since we could relate. We were even more amused with the man sitting in the row behind us. This man was laughing so hard he was just in tears throughout the whole movie.
