hi-just a quick one as i`m still bogged down with washing and getting photos sorted
we had an amazing week-weather was fab, parks were great ,lots of info in the trip report to come but on fri night we couldn`t come home as eurostar was cancelled going past ashton(a fire at waterloo)and we were put up in the newport bay for the night
eurostar were terrible -no info ,no help but once disney took over about 7.30pm it was all smooth running gettin 230 people into the newport bay and they couldn`t been more helpful
getting any info on sat as to how we were going to get home was terrible and only by chance did we get any of the 40 spare seats on the sat night train but i`ll go into more detail on my trippie
glad to be home but we had a fantastic trip!!!

Sorry to hear about the long delay in getting home. Glad the trip was a success. Looking forward to the trip report.

That is a shame about Eurostar. Glad you had a great time and look forward to your trippie.

Were you able to go back to the park? Sounds like my idea of a dream come true... Though I guess it wasn't much fun at the time? :rolleyes1

Shame about Eurostar customer service but nice getting an extra night at NPC :goodvibes

Look forward to hearing all about it once you have finished the :laundy:

:) Hi Liz!
Glad you had an amazing trip too! :cloud9:
We'll have to compare notes from different view points on the 'Eurostar fiasco'. We too were on that train and supposed to go to Waterloo but instead of staying over we took a chance and went to Ashford where we managed to get a diff train back to London, finally getting back at 10.45PM UK time :scared: The kids were exhausted and everyone very stressed, but at least we made it back.
I know what you mean about the Eurostar staff at MLV, they were useless and couldn't give any information at all :sad2: We were told there would be no transport at all on from Ashford but as soon as we finally boarded Eurostar the train staff told us there should be some trains, it was madness!!!!

I'm glad you managed to get home in the end.
I'm not sure which was the better choice to make.

we spoke to a person from Eurostar at the check in area while it was chaos and she told us that if we could get family to pick us up then we should go to Ashford as once you got there in her words "there will be no buses,no trains ,no taxis ,no nothing" so we decided we couldn`t take the risk of being stuck there all night and although yes it was nice to get park tickets for the sat the park was heaving and we had all had enough and just wanted ot go home!! At least you got back Raci!! And as we had another hour from London we didn`t know when the traind stopped running from Kings Cross although the sat train was even more of a fiasco than the fri night ,only 40 people got tickets for the sat night train the rest being sent to paris to change there and we really couldn`t deal with that with 5 kids in our party!!

It def sounds like we made the right decision then!
I too had spoken to someone who said the same (Were you the lady from somewhere else in Yorkshire also talking to a lady from Eurostar at the same time as us, near the lift?).
It just wasn't true that there was no transpost, but from the way things were in Ashford I think the train service from Ashford to Charing Cross just wanted the minimum extra people possible :sad2:

Our bigest concern was that by staying at Disney we would miss our connecting train to get back to Yorkshire on the Sat and if we'd missed that replacement tickets to buy on the day would have been so expensive :scared:

It was a very stressful journey back to London getting in 2 1/2 hr late but at least we made our hotel booking and train home the next day. It was very exhausting and in all the stress we lost the travel tablets so my daughter was sick most of the way back :sad1:

I must have standing right near you as there was a lady next to me saying that she had to get to a hotel she had booked in london and then was going back to leeds ,this was next to the lift although it was chaos ,we were told if we were staying to go to the seating area at the other end and then at about 7.30 a man came through from disney and said to follow him and we were trooped out to the buses ,they had laid on shuttles with `special service` on the front and we had help with cases ,straight into newport bay and we were in our rooms by 8.15pm -once disney were involved it ranvery smoothly ,as they were 5 of us we were given a family room and my friend had 5 in her party but were given 2 connecting rooms ,we also had food vouchers for the evening(although you couldn`t get to the restaurant for the queue)and we had breakfast tickets
you def made the right decision -wish we had risked it -once you`re in the going home frame of mind its hard to get out of
