We may not be able to arrive until the day after we booked

I have the free dining booked to arrive on 6/27, but now found out my friend may have to work and we won't be able to arrive until 6/28. If I have done online check in, will this still be OK? I tried to modify the reservation online, but Donald keeps popping up with "had to duck out". I hate to lose the offer.

How late will you arrive?
I've booked a room the night before our arrival a couple of times, arriving very early morning, like before 9AM, so I knew we had a room when we got to the hotel. There were no issues regarding us not spending the night before in the room. I paid for it so they didn't care if I used it, only that I paid for it. But, I didn't wait till 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon to get there. That could make them wonder if the room is abandoned.
