Ok actually we made 2. The first seller was pretty firm (though he did say he would check with his wife so he might come back with a better counter). The second gave us what I think is a nice counter. And it comes with points so we will be starting off ahead of the game, from a points standpoint. We can find a stripped down contract and try to lowball them but inthe end we would save less than $1000 and based on when we want to next vacation be starting out needing to borrow. And I just went and looked through the ROFR thread, our per point price is at the lower end of what has been passing lately so I feel like it is a fair deal.

So there will be some discussion in the house tonight but I think we may be joining you all soon!! Oh and major kudos to our very patient, very knowledgable TTS agent, he rocks!! :woohoo:

At which resort are you trying to purchase? I found TTS to be very helpful with making offers. They were really good about sending information as soon as it was available. I don't think it could have gone more smoothly!:worship:

Boardwalk. We just absolutely LOVE that location. Yeah, I would ...and will recommend TSS to anyone who is ever considering a DVC purchase. Of course I will also suggest they check this board out because the info is priceless!

We are already thinking about buying 100 points at BWV or BCV and we haven't stepped foot into BLT where we own (or any other DVC resort for that matter!) because the location is so good.

We stayed at the Swan last year and took my dad with us. We all spent the week raving about how fun it was on the Boardwalk. The funny thing is I see people on here all the time trying to pick which home resort to buy and hear things like "Well we live at the beach so we don't want Beach Club". We are from NJ, close to the shore, with some of the best boardwalks in the world (it's true!!! I don't lie;) ) but we are still drawn to the BW!

We also plan to visit as many of the resorts as we can. Till I can to this board, I unfairly had a low opinion of SSR but have read so much from owners that we can't wait to try it out!

I bought my BWV contract from Jerry at TSS... If I came across another resale I wanted, I wouldn't hesitate to use him again!

Hope you get a good contract and pass ROFR! We could be neighbors!

Well, yay, I'm glad you found a seller who was willing to negotiate! We may very well be BWV "neighbors" soon! =)

We just bought 250 points at the Boardwalk, with 250 points banked and 250 coming in December, and we're just loving the planning for our first two trips (one in March and the other next November around Thanksgiving). I agree that the location cannot be beat. As much as I'd like to try a few other resorts, I'm hard pressed to picture staying anywhere else.

We found Jason at TSS to be extremely easy and pleasant to work with, and the whole process was completely painless. We made out offer on 6/2, sailed through ROFR in just 21 days, and were closed by the end of June and in DVC's system by July 2nd! I suspect that isn't typical, but our sellers were eager to keep things moving and we were paying cash so it was just a matter of sending back the check, and the escrow agent was very fast.

Good luck!!!!

Good luck on the bid. Here's a little pixiedust: to help you get the process.

There's nothing like doing WDW as a DVC member. It has totally changed our outlook on how to do the parks and definitely increased the number of days that we stay each trip. :cloud9:

That is just about how it worked for us give or take a day!!!! :cool1:

A lot depends on how much of a hurry you are in, the brokers thought tend to be a little high if you have time (willing to be ROFRed), but if you want something quickly then they are on the mark.

Since January it is hard to say what is the real ROFR level at the older resorts so it is a good time to try a low offer.

Good luck with your onctract. I too am from NJ and love BCV/BWV area. I passed ROFR on BCV contract end of June but am waiting on the owner to get their notarized documents back to TTS so we can close. Its a bit frustrating since I fed'exd my payment July 1st! I am getting anxious because I started the process in May but Disney exersised ROFR on my first contract offer.

We officially accepted the today! So the ball is rolling. I will keep you all updated so I can hopefully be added to the "recently passed" thread soon!

And like I said people, first drink is on me for all the help
