My husband, me and 2 kids (boy age 9 and girl age 7) just returned from 8 days at the CSR. We switched to CSR due to the closing of the CBR. We did not want to stay at Port Orleans (my husband and I had stayed there previously), nor did we want to upgrade to a deluxe.

All I can say is CSR was FANTASTIC! All of the "negatives" I heard just weren't an issue for us. We stayed in Cabanas 8A and were steps from Bus Stop 4 and the Dig Site. Great location! A short walk to El Centro but it was such a beautiful walk, we didn't mind at all.

The room was clean (and a corner room, so 2 windows!) and cheerful. The grounds were so well-maintained--saw lots of lizards, toads and rabbits!

The "convention" aspect didn't bother us--in fact, it was probably a positive since the pool area was never crowded and the buses were very empty. When we left MK one evening at closing time, bus lines for PO and All Stars were miles long while CSR had only a few people waiting.

I remember reading from a previous post that CSR is a well-kept secret. I have to agree!

Any questions, just let me know.

Thanks for a great review! I am so psyched for my trip now!! My sister handled making my ressies for me (I pay for it, but she handles getting them made) and CSR is where I ended up. I've seen mixed things, so seeing good reviews so close to my going really helps!!

I'm being pretty flexible about where I stay...my one request ~ non-smoking due to allergies ~ is on the ressie already (yeah, I know it's just that, a request...but hopefully they'll come through for me!), and other than that I'm going to try to be flexible.

Were the busses pretty reliable without really long waits? That's what the most questionable comments I've seen are about.

I can't think of any other questions right now, but I'll definitely let you know if I come up with any.

Thanks again!!

Thanks for the review. We will be at CSR for the first time in Feb 2003 and it is good to see positive things about CSR. Glad you had a great trip.

Thankyou RobandLisa, for such a great review!!
We are staying at CSR for the first time in 7 days. I have been seeing more and more positive reviews.

I'm envious of all of you who are going to CSR in the near future--I know you'll love it!

Mickeyluv71: With regards to your question about buses, I found them to be great. The longest wait we had was 10 minutes. We were at bus stop 4--the usual route was first 2, then 3, then 4 then 1. The reasoning behind that is if any of the conventioners are staying at 2-4 and need to get to the convention hall in 1, they hop on any of the park buses to get to the main stop.

Just one "negative" we only heard about the buses: we left Epcot at 5:00 one day and there was a man waiting for the bus back to CSR; said he'd been waiting for 1/2 hour (but then a bus arrived shortly thereafter).

One thing I didn't mention in the previous post--the Pepper Market was very nice. I've seen varied opinions, but definitely think it's just a matter of preference, as with any restaurant. We ate dinner there a couple of times and always managed to find something we liked (not to mention the best M&M cookies from the bakery!) It is a bit pricey (but that opinion is coming from this Canadian who thinks everything is expensive when translated into US $!!!)

Glad you enjoyed CSR and had a great trip. CSR is an awesome resort. I'm sure all of WDW resorts are. It all comes down to taste but if you like that SW/Mexican theme, you can do any better than CSR.
