We are just back from a week at SSR. We love it more and more each time! The grandkids loved the main and Paddock pools. We did the campfire and marshmallows one night. Our rooms were in the 2nd building in Congress Park. It was clean and well maintained. We did have to call housekeeping for some items though, wine opener, paring knife, spatula? Guess some guests are "accidently" taking some things. We were able to get a large pan to cook corn on the cob as well.

We enjoy SSR also.

How was the DTD view and how far along is the new bridge between congress park and DTD?

I love SSR!!!! We own at VWL, but keep going back to SSR. Love the Springs pool. Especially the pool parties. I think it is a great location too.

Glad to see so many people love SSR, we are looking to buy resale DVC there in about a year. My wife's fab non-dvc resort is Coronado Springs so it seems like the best fit. :)

I think we were in the same building at CP last month! We also had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the resort, pools and the quick walk to DTD:cool1: I remember we didn't have a wine opener in the room either, and when I was at the AP buying a bottle I asked the CM checking me out who to ask about it. She kindly pointed out that the bottle I was buying wouldn't need one anyway (screwtop), LOL! :rotfl: But still, there should be one in the rooms :thumbsup2

The bridge looks ready to go. We walked down to DTD one night, it's a mess right now lot's of contruction walls up, and passed the bridge. It will cut off the street area to DTD. It almost looked like you would need to use your key card? or MB. but it was dark so we didn't look too closely.

We also are finding that we love SSR! It is one of those resorts that grows on you. :goodvibes

We just stayed at SSR this past February and loved it. It was our 2cd stay there. We would stay there again without hesitation. :thumbsup2 Room was great, CMs great, and grounds nice.

So excited! Is it my imagination or are they moving quickly with this renovation? I'm hoping at least the bridge is done by the time I go again. :)

How long does it take to walk from Congress Park to Carriage House area? Thanks!

15 to 20 min slow walk depending on your building. You can walk along the road or along the water.

Thanks, Bill ....Would there be another building closer to Carriage House area and still be a 10-15 minute walk to DTD? We haven't stayed at SSR before, so am trying to find one of the buildings walkable to DTD. Thanks

There were a couple of afternoons after park mornings when I just jumped on any bus to go over to the main pool. Kids and grandkids didn't mind the walk probably about 10m for them but this "Mimi" had tired legs! The carriage house area is the last stop!

To be honest, all of the construction at DTD would keep me away. The new bridge between Congress Park and DTD will make the walk even shorter when it's completed.

I am another true fan of SS. I love hanging out at DD with my husband when the kids go to the parks.

I will take pictures of the construction and post them.

We just booked Christmas at SSR and are excited. What construction will be going on then?

What section should we request as a group of adults and one teenager boy. We will want to spend time at the resort relaxing with adult beverages and snacks. No adult beverages for the teen though.

You can Google a map. The springs section is closest to the main pool.

DH and I love SSR. Our last stay was in June. Even with all the construction going at DTD it was still a beautiful and interesting view. So far we have stayed in the Paddock and Congress park areas. The only one I am not interested to stay at is the Carousel section as we book studios and it is a long walk to the Paddock pool to do laundry.
