My dad revealed the news to my son last night and we leave tomorrow morning. I am still up in the air on one thing, WOC. Not going to do the picnic, guess we will attempt fp. The king thread is so intense it's tough to follow. My one question would be is how soon do the fp run out?

In early December (aka a low crowd time) we got passes at 11am one morning, then it rained that night so we didn't go. A few days later we tried again at 11am and they were all gone.

The best bet is to hit that first thing after DCA opens so that you don't have to worry about running out issues.

I'm not a line person so I didn't want to stand in line....but afterwards I read here on DIS many times that the lines moves very quickly.

So there is a line just to get the fp?

Yes, when we were there last summer, the line went all the way down past the Taste Pilot's Grill...... :scared1: Someone was saying you can watch from the backside & still have a pretty good view......you miss a couple small things & if there's any writing.....it would be backwards....but they said, no waiting around, no FP's needed & if they lost interest, they could go ride TSMM.

Thanks Laurie. I am not a huge fan of fantasmic so I keep wavering on this. Gotta try it at least once might as well see it the best way we can.

Yep, earliest is best, especially if there is only one show the night you go. The schedule says DCA opens at 10 AM, but the gates open at 9:30 AM and the fastpass machines for WoC are immediately available.

Sounds like you might be referring to my recent post. We did see the show from the backside, and that was a good enough experience for us at that time since we didn't want the bother of the line-up and waiting. We had done the waiting/line-up thing once during the summer when we ended up getting red fastpasses, also not a great viewing position. I would say I enjoyed the reverse view better than the front side view from the red side of the viewing area.

As for the lines, they were definitely like that during the summer; I waited in it once and noticed it several other times when we were there. We were also there during the week of Thanksgiving. The fastpass line for WoC was not as bad but still significant. We were at Disney again last week. On Tuesday, we walked by the WoC fastpass machines at 9:55 AM. There was no line. DH walked up and got fastpasses. They were yellow, so even though there was no line anymore, the blue fastpasses were apparently gone already. There was only one showing of WoC that night.

That's our philosophy too. We go several times a year, so we like to make sure to try everything at least once. We have seen WoC twice now, neither from a prime position. The show doesn't excite us much, but that's just our opinion, so I would never deter anyone from trying it out for themselves.

Mid January we didn't even have to line up for the fast passes! When we headed over to get dinner around 6.30 from Paradise Pier and we were shocked to see people lining up along the bridge for non-ticketed views. Serves us right for only getting to the viewing zone 45 minutes before it started...we were directed into the far left hand corner in a wet zone (although we never got wet). Still had an okay view with a light pole in the middle but my tip is just get there early for a good standing spot!

This is tough. Watching on a Monday, off season. A Disser has reported many time the availabilty of FP's in the WoC superthread. For many slow days in the park FP's have been availble through the afternoon into the evening. Not that I'd wait until 4pm to get one, but there may be a chance.

As always Blue and Yellow offer more better spots, but being near a rail gets the best view. So plan to show up early with you FP and aim to get a unblocked view.

Thanks everyone! I will be checking in occasionally on my tr. Tip for those going soon, don't wait until the day before to start packing. Lol it's been a long day. Off to the airport in the morning.

Have a magical trip! I am so jealous! :wizard:
