We leave tomorrow! Polynesian room ?

Hi everyone. PLEASE EXCUSE THESE SILLY QUESTIONS... MY FAMILY IS FINISHED DISCUSSING DISNEY WITH ME...so I thought all of you wonderful people may be able to help me! We faxed a room request for the Polynesian on Wednesday. We've asked for NON SMOKING due to an asthma problem. We also asked for a balcony/patio. We requested Tokelau or Niue west view. Now I'm thinking that Niue's east view would be of the quiet pool and that may be more convenient. Our boys are 9 and 5, so we'll probably be at the volcano pool more. What do you think...at check in do they show you on a map your room? Also, if we ask politely for an upgrade, do we get to know the room we'll be assigned to decided if it will work for us? We've also thought that perhaps we should just "enjoy" whatever room we get since we won't know a difference!

We're just back. Kids are 10 and 8. We also thought we'd spend more time in the Volcano pool. We actually spent more time in the Quiet pool. The water in the quiet pool actually felt warmer than the volcano pool. We tend to swim evenings to late night. We would spend some time in the volcano pool for the slide and then spend the majority in the quiet pool. We didn't get the room we asked for and ended up being quite happy with what we got.
