We leave out of Detroit Metro. I know that they have these oversized golf cart type vehicles to transport people that have a hard time getting around (my mom). What do they do in Orlando? I don't think I have ever noticed those vehicles. In the past, my mom has always walked once we got to MCO. She wanted to because she had been sitting for so long. She would just meet us at the spot where I could drive the rental car up to. This time, she will not be able to walk that distance. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

request that you be met at the gate with a wheelchair

I agree with Lisa. I have not seen those carts in the airport in Orlando either, but I have seen skycaps with wheelchairs.
Try calling your airline and ask for the Special Needs Department (they have one, but the first person you talk to might not know it). They should be able to help you.
