My husband informed me that he would like to take a year off Disney (Next year) I've been having heart palpatations since!!
Well am I wrong in asking how he would like to go a year without dinners, bake goods.************????
What would you do???
Have a disney nite:confused:

I don't understand. Are you saying that you won't cook or bake for a year if you can't go to Disney? What is ********?? :lol

Go ahead and go somewhere else next year. I think I love the beaches and mountains we've visited almost as much as I love Disney. They are different, but no less spectacular. Also, maybe your husband will appreciate Disney more after going someplace else.
Regardless of what you both decide, forget about next year and just enjoy this years Disney trip! :)

You should say " Honey I think you are right. You should take a year off of disney. That way the kids and I will have more spending money when we go"

I agree with Lucky. We took a 2 year break and went to all-inclusives in Cuba, DR and Mexico, had a great time. Kids loved them too and they also learned alot about other cultures. We are now heading back to Orlando in Feb and I find we're almost as excited as we were the very first time we went. :)

Friends and family don't understand that I could do Disney every year and not tire of it. However, there are other things I would like to do before I die and I might need to take a break from WDW if I am going to be able to afford them.

We also live on the west coast and sometimes we have to wait 18 months between trips due to the airfare and expense. Life does go on and the visits are that much more special.

My DH doesn't like WDW quite as much as I do. He likes to go every other year. However, 3 of my 5 grown children love Disney too. So, I get to go with them (I'm the babysitter). It's worked out so that I get to go at least once a year (last year and this year, twice!) and DH stays happy. I get the best of both WDWs, adult only trips with DH, and trips with the kids too! Right now I'm planning a trip for my DS and his family for next week. But, I'm also planning MY trip with my DD and DGDs for November. AND....DH just announced that he wants to attend the Food and Wine Festival next year in Epcot for our wedding anniversary. Planning is half the fun!

We are taking 2006 off to go somewhere else. WDW is not the only place in the world to vacation. We usually do WDW and another place in the same year. In 2006, we are doing Beaches in Jamaica and a family dude ranch in Montana. My DD will be 11 years old then and she chose these two places for 2006. WDW will definitely be in 2007 though, per me.

DH and I took a year off once and were miserable. We missed our fix.

Now we go once a year, and will take an extra trip next May to get the most out of our APs.

We do at least two other long weekend getaways each year too, but nothing is ever as enjoyable as our WDW trips.

I am in the same boat as you. My husband doesnt want to go to Disney in 2005. So I have agreed to take next year off from Disney. We went last year and are going again in November and that is the only two times we have gone.

But along those lines we are going to the park for 4 or 5 days in November but he told me to go ahead and buy a 7 day pass. So I at least feel that he is going to go for sure in 2006. See we are a military family and we are scheduled to move in Feb 2007 and I was worried he would say sorry cant do it because of the move but he has promised that wouldnt happen. In fact he said as soon as they open up the dates for 2006 reservations to go ahead and make them for the Poly. (My dream resort)

And so although I wont be going in 2005 I will be happy paying a little at a time on my dream vacation in 2006.

But we wont be going without a vacation next summer but rather we are going to do camping and such with the kids.

I love Disney but I couldn't do it every year. We go about every 3-4 years and it is plenty for us. This year we will be doing Disney twice and I feel it is way overkill.

We like to take a break from WDW as well...that's why we go to DL instead. :p

Beebumble, I laughed out loud when I read your post. I liked what you said about dinners etc. I'm heading back to WDW in 3 weeks and I was just there last September. I not entirely ready to go back but I have a free plane ticket that I have to use by mid November. I didn't want to use it for a short trip where the seats go on sale anyway so I am returning for 10 nights. (from Victoria, B.C Canada) I think I will probably only spend 3 days at the Disney parks but I am buying a 7 day park hopper. I am going to put the ticket in my safe deposit box when I get home and then hopefully go again 2 years from now. Unlike last year, this year I will visit Busch Gardens, SeaWorld and the Funai Classic golf tournament.
Funny about the weather too. Last year I was there from September 09 - 19 and barely had a drop of rain. This year, that was right in the middle of 2 hurricanes. I am thankful so far that I delayed the trip by a month this year.
Cheers to everyone.
