I am so excited! I know it is not on Disney property, but I am so excited anyway! Has anyone stayed here recently? Is the miniature golf course open yet? What building did you stay in and did you enjoy your location? I saw a resort map on-line one time; now I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have link? Is there food available on site? We are planning on renting a car, but I was still curious about the shuttle service. Does anyone know the times the shuttle runs?

I am just so excited to have a reservation. Now I can start planning everything else!:daisy:

Can you tell I am excited? :Pinkbounc

That's great news! Who did you book through, and if you don't mind me asking, what kind of rate did you get? I would love to stay there!

Is this the Fairfield timeshare, Fairfield at Bonnet Creek? If so you can get some more info at RCI or at FAIRFIELDRESORTS websites (Sorry, I can't post links yet), although both sites have limited info for non-members.

We booked through a friend of mine. Her DH is in the military and they will be stationed overseas for the next 2 years. She has Fairfield points that she won't be able to use. We are paying for the reservation but she is giving us an awesome deal. It probably wouldn't be fair to compare our rate to others, because we are kind of both helping each other out. I think you can find rentals at redweek.com and other websites like that. Just google Fairfield Orlando at Bonnet Creek. Good luck! :daisy:

we were lucky enough to get in for Sept, can't wait. I toured this last summer & it is BEAUTIFUL. Lazy river is soooooooooo awesome. Presidential Suite is massive, you can get lost in it. We gave up our OKW ressie for this so I have high expectations. Hope you have a wonderful time :thumbsup2

We stayed there in sept 05 it was very very nice, we will be going back to orlando area in feb but we will be staying at cyprus palms fairfield resort this time b/c we aren't doing disney except for 1 day, and IMO if you aren't doing disney 80% of the time then it's better to stay at cyprus palms, b/c you can get to resturants walmart, cvs, ect. There are no resturants on site, closest would be going into a disney hotel or park to eat, we were in building 2 there was only 1 and 2 open when we were there, the pool areas are awsome my kids would have been happy just spending a hole day just at the room playing in the pools. we were on the top floor and loved the view of epcots fire works from building 1. HTH LMK if you would like more info!!!

We stayed at Bonnet Creek last month for a week on our honeymoon. I thought the resort was breathtaking! We had such an amazing time. We were in the main building on the third floor. It was great being so close to everything - the pool and lazy river, guest services, the game room, the lounge area (that has free internet access). I do believe I saw the mini-golf course being used when we took a walk down by the newer towers.

I think what I liked most about it was just that everything seemed so new and fresh. It really was a wonderful place to stay! I hope you enjoy your trip there.

Congratulations on your recent marriage! :lovestruc

I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Did you happen to use the shuttle service at all? We are planning on renting a car, but if the shuttle service was decent enough we might use it a little bit too. Glad to hear the miniature golf course looked like it was open. I think DS 6 is going to love the resort so much he might even forget about going to the parks! :rotfl:

We are staying in a 2-bedroom the first week of October! :cool1: I can't wait. We are planning on driving to the parks, but I will try to check out the transportation schedule for you!

We had heard that the shuttle service wasn't that great, so we paid the extra money and rented a car (which, by the way, is WAY expensive if you're under 25). I guess the way it works is that the shuttle picks up and drops off like three times each during the day. And if you want to get on it you have to reserve a spot, otherwise it might not go if nobody reserves it. The reason we didn't want to deal with that was that it was soooo hot out, and we didn't want to get stuck at a park or at the resort. Also, none of the shuttles go before the parks open (so you can't get there early) or after they close (so you can't stay for the last shows). So I guess I recommend renting a car. Yes, it's sort of annoying to park and pay for parking, but I think it will be much less of a hassle.

Hope that helps!

I know the FF cyprus plams resort also charges you $3 per person for shuttle service to and from the parks... not sure if they would let you bring along a stroller on them or not... we have always had a car when we went.

We have a 3BR for Dec. 1-8! I will also be interested in how the shuttle is working. We drive, and have APs for free parking, but it's just nice to not have to drive. That's one of the reasons I like to stay onsite, but this time there will be 8 of us and we wanted to be able to stay together.

I'm glad that it looks like those who have stayed there already were pleased. I've only seen pictures, but it looks awesome!

When we toured there last month, the sales rep told us that they had shuttles that would bring us anywhere on Disney property that we wanted. She mentioned this when I asked about the lack of dining at the resort, they currently only have a snack bar, no real restaurants.

Upon pressing a little harder for an answer, we found that they have 3 scheduled shuttles per day, and they usually needed to be reserved the evening before. Also, their idea of getting anywhere on Disney property is different than mine. It turned out that if you scheduled a shuttle, it would bring you to a park. From that park you could use Disney transportation to get to the various resorts for the various dining options.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice place. Just be careful if anyone tells you they have transportation to "anywhere" on Disney property. To eat at Whispering Canyon you would have to take the shuttle to one of the parks, take the Disney transportation to Wilderness Lodge, eat, take Disney transportation back to the park, and then time your shuttle ride to bring you back to Bonnet Creek.
