What a great show! DH and I took our 3 DDs age 11, 10 & 2! This was little DDs first visit...and what a hit! Right now she is telling DH what her favorite acts were! Hands up above the rest was the Lions! The tamer had the gall to put his head in one of the lions mouth!...the audience was stunned(probably from the recent accident from the Mirage)!

I highly recommend the circus for a fun time!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. We are going in April to a Sunday afternoon show. Will be DS (5) first circus. He is excited. It is a birthday present for him.

Just a word of advice to those who plan to see the circus at MSG. Animal rights protesters will be out in full force, so if you have small children and want to avoid unpleasantness, stay away from 7th Ave. Wish DH and I had known about it last year.

When I was a little girl one of my fondest memories is my mother taking me to NYC to Madison Square Garden to see the Ringling Brothers Circus every year. I can't wait until I live in the US again so that I can share that tradition with my son.

I think the circus is sad. :(

And yes clowns are evil.

I'm afraid I feel the same way Miss Jasmine :(

I can't stand the thought of what these animals endure while being "trained" to entertain us, the elephants especially.

I haven't been to the circus in years. DD15 is STILL afraid of clowns.

We've seen it twice! Our first time was at MSG. This year, we went to a local arena (the "home" of Barnim). It was a lot of fun! I especially enjoyed seeing the entertainer from The Amazing Race.

Yes, PETA was out in "full force", scaring the children.

We went to the show in Atlanta last month with our home school group.
It was "okay" for me, but my boys( 9 & 11 ) loved it.
We sat kind of at a weird angle and were not able to see all 3 rings very well.

Lorix2, I'm glad to see someone else who feels the same way. There was a circus in town one year and the elephant had to be shot because no one had a tranqulizer gun and the elephant was running wild. Yes people were in danger, and yes that is what had to be done, but wild animals have no place being trained for man's entertainment. That elephant should never had been in that position. :(

PETA actually has some good points, though sometimes the organization does take things to the extreme. Just don't paint all PETA supporters with the same brush.

I like Ringling Brothers but then I enjoy clowns. Luckily DS does too.

ITA! My advice was not intended as a veiled criticism of PETA. Actually, had the children been older, it would have been a good teachable moment. However, as our group had 4 children ranging in age from 9 months to 4, we really didn't need shoutings and scary pictures--as if clowns and loud music weren't traumatic enough.

I agree. ;) :) Protesters need to realize their "audience" as well.

We go to the circus every year and love it! Last year we had 2nd row seats and it was great!!! My MIL HATES the circus and can't understand why we go. Am I wrong to think that RBB&B treat their animals better than others??
