We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

I have never seen so few people waiting for the MK to open! (Well, at least not in my memory; my parents have mythic stories of how empty the park was in Septembers in the late '70s/early '80s, but since I was only around four back then, I wasn't paying too much attention.)

I loved that HBO Adams miniseries, too.

The park was empty, we barely saw anyone even walking around. It was so awesome. :thumbsup2

I've fallen a bit behind in my threads, but wanted to say I feel so awful that your having such problems with food on this trip. It must have been so frustrating!

I can't believe how empty the MK was. That's just crazy. :)

Enjoyed the update. I love Splash and there is a long ride until you get to the drop. Hopefully you will learn to enjoy it as I think it is just such a happy ride. Haven't seen HOP since the last rehab. We will definitely have to hit it in March. Good call on MK that day. It is so much fun to have the park almost to yourself.

Wow - Awesome morning at Magic Kingdom!! I don't think I've ever seen a park that empty! :thumbsup2

Such a nice morning at Magic Kingdom! I, too, am a fan of Liberty Square. I'm ready to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern again.

Congratulations on your extreme bravery on this trip.
That's an awesome Splash Mountain picture! :thumbsup2

Sorry LL but I was way behind.

I have to go all the way back to your check in to comment. I'm so glad you got a mansion room. Marc did great with his picture taking while you checked in. Such a beautiful resort. Laundry stinks! I had a not so nice experience with doing laundry on my trip too. I'm feeling your frustration. I actually have a picture of me with my jaws still clinched from my frustration. A little swim and some good food goes a long way to help wipe it away.

Ak-How neat to have a Dis Meet on the bus. Wonderful animal pictures. Great tree of life photos and on the trail. I love your EE picture!:rotfl: Thanks for the laugh. Finding Nemo is a great way to get over the shakes. How sweet of Marc to go get your dinner, he did owe you after that ride. Love your deserts.

Resort Day- Fabulous resort photos. How wonderful to have another impromptu Dis Meet. I also love afternoon naps.:lovestruc Sorry your diner didn't go better @ Fultons.:sad2:

Mk morning-Wow the park is so empty especially Liberty Square! Yeah for riding Splash. The picture looks like you really enjoyed it! I hope next time you can enjoy the rest of the ride more, you did say you would ride it again.

What a great morning! You got some great pictures too. I especially liked the ones of Mary and Bert and the ones from the Magic Carpets and Swiss Family Treehouse.

Fun update! Its so cool to see MK so empty and the ride mojo - :thumbsup2 I love the hall of presidents and I am so glad you posted pics of all the cool old dresses and historical memorabilia. I love that kind of stuff.

Awesome morning! And I am sure the 9 11 stuff would really choke me up on that date, too. Actually - it chokes me up anytime.

LL, I was two updates behind!

I am not a sun worshipper, either, so I always look for a table at the pool!

Glad you pointed out the Hidden Marc because I totally would have missed him. LOL!

You know, I was planning on CSR for our next trip, but your pictures of Riverside are always so great that I am rethinking my resort choice.

Ugh, sometimes chatty captains are a bit much.

The conch fritters at Fulton's look delicious, but boo to the evil crackers. :(

I can't believe your Magic Kingdom mojo!!! How awesome that it was so empty!!!

Yeay for riding Splash Mountain. Just remember when you see the vultures, and they ask why you aren't laughing, it's time to duck for the drop.

I have always loved John Adams. :lovestruc You know there is a new book out about him and Abigail. I think it is called The First Family. I am contemplating getting it for my dad for Christmas.

It was really frustrating. It can be frustrating at home but while on vacation it was even more aggravating!

I don't know if I will ever "enjoy" it when I know that big drop is coming but I much rather go on that than Expedition Everest. :lmao:

I've only eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern once but I really want to go there for lunch!

Yes, I'm so brave....

No worries on being behind, I'm so behind on everyones TRs.

I really thought I was going to make a scene about the laundry thing but I was able to calm down for the most part.

I'm a big fan of vacation naps, you can't get enough of them!

What a great morning! You got some great pictures too. I especially liked the ones of Mary and Bert and the ones from the Magic Carpets and Swiss Family Treehouse.
Thank you. I had fun taking pictures this morning, it's so nice when the park is empty to take pictures.

I love those dresses, I want one. I keep telling Marc we should become reenactors up in Concord, they do a ton of stuff throughout the year up there.

What a great morning. It is hard to believe MK can ever really be that empty. It must be awesome!!
It really was! I love traveling in September & January.

LL, I was two updates behind!

I just don't like baking in the sun, it's not my idea of fun.

I just wanted to get that drop over with. The anticipation was awful. :rotfl2:

I did see that new book! I have to request it at the library. I actually just requested one about Thomas Jefferson and the women he loved. It sounds so trashy but the book liner sounded good when I read it at Barnes & Noble.

I have to admit, we really didn't take a whole lot of photopass pictures this trip and then once you weed out the ones where Marc has his eyes closed...well that leaves us with very few.

Here are all the ones I want to share with you. I think there is only ONE where I haven't talked about that day yet.

A real update in the next post!!

Saturday September 11, Part 2.

We left off with our viewing of The Hall of Presidents. We decided to check out Fantasyland. The wait for Peter Pan wasn't too bad so we hoped on it. I think it was posted at 5 minutes but we really just walked on.

Dumbo had a 10 minute wait posted so we went on that next. I think we had to wait 2 cycles so it wasn't 10 minutes long at all.

I'm sure these construction sites look totally different now but here they are.

We went on a Scary Adventure with Snow White since that was walk on as well.

We spent some time looking at the Fantasyland expansion signs. I also took some pictures with my cell phones because I thought this picture was a great wallpaper background. Too bad my phone died when I got home and I had to get a new one.

I was jonesing for another Slushie Coke so we headed to Carousel of Progress. We checked the time and it was 10:50AM. We had good timing since The Lunching Pad would open in 10 minutes!

I also couldn't believe that since 8AM we had accomplished all those things. Let's recap in a list shall we?

Photopass pics on Main Street
Pictures of Liberty Square
Ride on Aladdin's Magic Carpets
Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse
Pirates of the Caribbean
Splash Mountain
Haunted Mansion
Hall of Presidents
Peter Pan's Flight
Dumbo
Panaromic Photos of Fantasyland
Snow White's Scary Adventure
Pictures of the Fantasyland expansion signs

And we were at Carousel of Progress at 10:50AM....VERY impressive if I do say so myself!

After Carousel of Progress, we ordered my much beloved Slushie Coke. We hemmed and hawed about what we wanted to do. We decided that we felt very accomplished and wanted to head back to the resort to relax.

On the way out, we stopped at Casey's and ordered corn dog nuggets to go. I was so happy they were able to give us a lid. We threw them in the bag and headed back to the resort.

Once we got back, we headed to the quiet pool and ate our lunch.

Corn Dog Nuggets packaged to go.

Yummy Yummy.

We relaxed, read, swam and I believe we took a short nap when we got back to the room.

While we swam, we decided to go to an ADR that we had made the previous day. I called to arrange a cab to pick us up at 4PM. I convinced Marc that a cab was the way to go to get to our dining destination.

Any guesses to where we were headed??

Coming Up....
My favorite dining experience of the trip!

You really did get a lot done! What a great morning. Glad to hear that you got to enjoy your Slushie Coke and corn dog nuggets without any problems. :thumbsup2 And that teaser at the end makes it sound like you had more success that night!

Just a guess at were you guys are going by cab- AK Lodge?

Holy cow! That was a busy morning. You were a smart woman to get there for rope drop! I am going to guess that you went to the Yacht Club....

Three things. LOVE the Christmas card photo! LOVE the cell phone background idea with The little mermaid, such a great idea! And WOW, that list is impressive, all before 10:50am?! You guys totally rocked your MK morning!!:thumbsup2

I can't believe how much you got done before eleven! Crazy!

I just tried corn dog nuggets for the first time in October, and I had such high hopes...but I'm sorry to say, I didn't like them at all. They did taste like they'd been sitting out for a long time, though -- they must be much better when they're fresh!

Another fantastic update!!!! What an awesome MK morning you guys had!!! WOWzers you guys accomplished a lot and you got a Slushie Coke too!! YUMMY!!!!

Love your photopass pictures!!!! Your Christmas Card photo is so awesome! You both look fantastic!
