Both DD's are playing soccer for the first time and loving it.

Twin B comes off the field at half time. The girls are in a huddle, drinking water (It was SOOO HOT!) and eating fruit. She looks at me and says, "I can't find my glasses."

"Where are they?" I asked.

"Somewhere on the field. They fell off when I was running and I can't find them."

The asst coach, another mom, and I go onto the field and start looking. Acouple of parents from the other team asked what we were doing. I told them of the glasses. They start looking for them.

The other team is on the field ready to play. The Ref and flag girls are on the field now too. "UH, parents what are you doing here?"

Me: "I'm so sorry. My DD lost her glasses and she can't see well without them."

Ref: "OKAY EVERYBODY ON THE FIELD AND FIND THOSE GLASSES NOW!!" Mutters, "Well this is a first for me." He then chuckles.

A mom from the other team found them after 5 minutes of everyone looking.

I am going to the store tonight to buy those safety strap thingys.

the coach thought it was ok because it gave the girls a few more minutes to rest.

I wanted to die from embarassment but will live through it. Hopefully everyone else has a short memory like me. LOL

Good for that coach, that was a good call:p

Glad you found them before someone squashed them!

I'd rather be a little embarrassed than out the $100-$200 for a new pair of glasses!!!

What a relief that you found them.

That reminds me of when my dd was younger and played hs soccer. She usually wore her contacts but she had to wear her glasses during one game. She was running up to head the ball and it smacked her right in the face and she went flying backwards and her glasses went flying upwards. A girl on the other team yelled "She can't see! Her glasses flew off, get the ball!" LOL. Ashli has bad vision but she's not so blind she can't see a soccer ball! lol. Anyway Ashli came up off the ground and immediately went for the ball leaving her glasses out there somewhere. The ref finally blew his whistle because he saw the glasses fly off so Ashli did stop and hunt around for her glasses then. I was so afraid that a pack of girls were going to run right over them and I let Ashli know after the game that I don't care if the other team gets possession of the ball or not, she better stop and find those glasses ASAP!
