We had a guest speaker at our church this morning, his name was Bobby Richardson, and played for the Yankees in the late 50's-60's. He is a wonderful christian man and is the one person that lead our preacher to Christ & understand all that he did. Our preacher went to an FCA camp 34 years ago and met him and they talked and on that day, our preacher turned his like over to Christ.

He was very interesting and played with Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra (spelling ??) and a few more. He spoke of Mickey Mantle becoming a believer later in life and spoke @ his funeral. He was a Christian & played sports, but always let his faith come first and was known for that. Wouldn't it be great if more of our so called "heroes" of this generation could be more like that?

Yes, I have heard of him. I believe he spoke here not long ago (well, a few years, I mean) but I missed it. I'm a huge Yogi fan so I remember that part well!

Another man to look into speaking at your church is Clebe McClary. He was in Vietnam and has a most touching story. He is from SC--south of Myrtle Beach, I believe. His wife was like a former Mrs. South Carolina or something and can sing beautifully and is just the sweetest woman. You should have your Preacher check him out. He has spoken at Billy Graham Crusades also. I've heard him twice and once I got tuned into that low country SC accent :p , he was great. Here is a link: http://www.clebemcclary.net/

Glad you enjoyed Mr. Richardson this morning. I always enjoy an interesting, uplifting speaker.:)

Sounds like you had a very inspirational speaker in church today
